I didn’t know where to put it… you guys should check The Act. omg Patricia Arquette is magnificent, she has great acting and should definitely win BSA limited series…

Lol so let’s put a limited series supporting actress contender in the game of thrones thread?

I’m running the (unofficial) Israeli Facebook page for Game of Thrones, and I don’t know if anyone cares but most of our audience adored this episodes. Seems very contrary to what I see in international social media. Perhaps a big part of it is how much of the shit-talking on the internet you witness before you form your opinion

Could you maybe accept that people actually had critiques and aren’t just being negative for the sake of being negative. many people enjoyed the episode but didn’t find it flawless, which is a pretty fair reaction. You can be a fan without insisting the past three episodes have been immaculate.

The only things I didn’t liked was Bran and the White Walkers doing nothing in this episode. Didn’t make sense at all.

Agree about Bran but I liked NK’s strategy of keeping the White Walkers away from the actual battle. Their demise would cost him a significant chunk of his army. If the wights are enough to defeat the living, which they were, then there was no need to put the WW in danger. Might not be very interesting to watch but a good strategy nonetheless.

God that cinematography is out of this world, specifically the Melisandre ones. The ending shot to the episode: complete perfection.

Well at least my boy Alfie Allen can still win the SAG as part of the ensemble next year!

True, but if we’re following that logic then there was no reason for the Night King to not just wait until the wights killed everyone except the Three-Eyed Raven before showing up to kill the Three-Eyed Raven.

This interconnects with my problem with Bran as I thought the NK wanted to take him out as soon as possible because he posed a threat or had a bigger purpose. The supernatural threat is seemingly over without Bran doing anything and this doesn’t sit right with me.

So I just rewatched the episode and still have some questions: where did Bran go during the entire battle? We saw the ravens fly to the Night King’s dragon, but then what? Some people already have theories. Also, I can’t be the only one who found the exchange between Bran and the Night King to be strange, right? Something must have been up.

Unfortunately, those questions will probably never be answered.

Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.

And we need to talk more about the true Azor Ahai: Ramin Djawadi. Miguel give us memorable and beautiful scenes and shot in this episodes, but it had some flaws.

The soundtrack was truly perfection. The Night King score and specially the news Melisandre’s tracks are so beautiful. When the Unsullied theme change to a new version of “Lord of Light”, and moments later, when Mels ignite the trench… I lose my mind.

I think I would have preferred Dany taking the Throne in S7 and then everyone facing the AotD in S8, and their arrival altering everything bringing death and destruction. Now, how would have the AotD pass through the Wall without a dragon? Idk. It would probably make things more complicated and demanding writing wise, but that’s the writers’ job, to not be lazy. It’s just a stretch that Cersei is the big bad imo. 3 eps seems a lot yet it might just be exactly enough. However switching the villains timeline wise would make the ending and the final season fighting the AotD anticlimatic since it’s the game of thrones after all.

The show should have honestly not won for season 7, like seriously. That season was just frustrating.

Someone gets it! Anyone who has engaged with musical composition knows how hard it is to rework/reharmonise a theme, and the way he did it with the Lord of Light theme twice (Melisandre at the trench, Melisandre’s death) was fantastic.

Carice really had the best performance of the episode and the best accompanying soundtrack of the episode. Give her Guest Actress!
