People complaining about THIS episode should just stop watching the show completely. This was CINEMA, the fuck? That directing was out of this fucking world!

So this was unbelievable. Felt like I was on the battlefield as cliche as that sounds lol. I don’t even know how to put it into words but I was just in awe the entire time. So stressful. Such an exhausting experience. And just when you think we’re done, Arya saves the day. What a moment. Top 5 episode of the series for me. I’m glad we’re done with the white walkers and the night king though, now for the real game of thrones! (And finally some Cersei)

I will say, my main issues were not enough people dying – as in the main troupe of characters – and how the hell was Arya able to get to the night king without any of the white walkers stopping her?

Fanboys gonna fanboy, that’s fine. Great directing, yes but the writing was terrible as usual and the lighting was trash. Those are things worth mentioning.

I can’t believe people are complaining about the writing in the middle of a battle episode…I- how am I not shocked?

Or we could have our own opinion on the episode? Just because you didn’t love it doesn’t mean other people can’t. And that doesn’t make us fanboys at all.

Blackwater had great writing. Watchers on the Wall had good writing. Hardhome had great writing. Battle of the Bastards had great writing with the exception of a couple plot holes. This episode had barely any of the amazing character moments that we usually get in Game of Thrones battle episodes.

This episode had plenty of amazing character moments. But to each their own.

We just got two character filled episodes though there didn’t need to be any moments in this episode everyone knew going into this episode that it was THE BATTLE.

The purpose of this episode wasn’t to have character moments. It was purely to survive. Although, that moment between Sansa and Tyrion was genuinely one of the most touching scenes in the entire series. I was bawling lol. But yeah, the madness that was this battle didn’t allow for any big speeches and nice character moments. It was it just a fight to live.

Can we talk about how Van Houten went out giving one of the best performances on this show and ended it with that? Give her the Guest Emmy right now.

None of them really were at the level of Cersei talking to Sansa, Tyrion’s speech, or Cersei almost killing Tommen in Blackwater or Ygritte’s death and Grenn’s death in Watchers on the Wall though. That’s the standard I was hoping for, and it kind of missed.

Also, the writing is the reason why Jon had nothing to do (he could have at least killed the dragon at the end), why we got so few character deaths, and why Dany made stupid decisions like landing Drogon instead of blasting fire from the air.

Daenerys doing that was stupid but it’s called being human and Jon was given quite a bit to do, in my opinion. There was barely any time to include stuff like that, except for Sansa/Tyrion and Arya/Hound/Melisandre. And even just that, I’d say they topped the examples you gave, including Arya’s moment of saving the show. But that’s just my opinion.
