I think the way the show concluded Jaime’s arc was true to his character. Cersei was his addiction, and him not being able to quit her was true to life, and his character. Jaime had a taste of happiness with Brienne but ultimately decided he wasn’t worthy of it. He felt like he deserved to die, and went to go die with Cersei. As much as we would have liked a happily-ever-after for Jaime, this decision makes complete sense with who he is.
Some people can’t completely change, and it’s like people battling addictions with alcohol or drugs. They can go years sober but all it takes it one drink or one hit, and they spiral out of control again. He realised that Dany and co. would kill Cersei. And went to die with her. It’s a tragic end because we hoped he could move on, but plenty of tales have ended on similar notes, and just because it’s not the ending we wanted, doesn’t mean it’s bad.May 12, 2019 at 9:26 pm #1202891186
The editing and cinematography were great in this episode though. Perfection.May 12, 2019 at 9:29 pm #1202891192
Arya has been the queen of plot armor for a long time now. She was never ever going to die, period.May 12, 2019 at 9:41 pm #1202891204
Emilia, the editing, cinematography, directing, soundtrack, you guys deserve EVERYTHING!May 12, 2019 at 9:51 pm #1202891208
Arya should be dead by now realistically, same for Jon and everyone excepted Dany and Drogon. The fact that they survived is complete BS. This didn’t even looked like KL in the beginning of the episode How did Jamie entered there so fast? He was on a beach 5 sec earlier. So many flaws. This show is garbage.
I would have been pissed if Arya died in Kings Landing. I loved that she was our guide through the carnage. And I loved how she rode off at the end on the horse (probably sent by Bran). Plot armor? Sure.
But this is a show that made such a show of Jon Snow’s death, only to bring him back from the dead. So let’s not act like this shit is new. It’s been a part of the series since season 2.May 12, 2019 at 10:12 pm #1202891229
Well those who said Cersei was one-note… I CRIED with her. Give Lena her Emmy.

I do feel kind of cheated for not seeing the Lannisters’ corpses. Actually we just saw the peasants die. Loyal to my Queen even in this Michael Bay version.May 12, 2019 at 10:28 pm #1202891241
Darling, I LOVED the episode (except for Arya’s plot armor, ridiculous af) even though I haven’t been liking the season so far. I’m in love with the idea of Daenerys being the villain and of course Emilia Clarke should be in contention for the Lead Drama Actress Emmy.
Jaime’s arc was flawless. This doesn’t mean he hasn’t changed since first season. He has changed A LOT, but he’ll always be in love with Cersei and so will she. Nikolaj was great as always and Lena Headey… I wasn’t expecting the writers to give her that emotional scene after all this season… Give her the Emmy.
Jon Snow is now conflicted because she loves Mad Lady Gaga and knows what she’s doing is crazy. Can’t wait to see him cutting her head off, or the other way around. Well, I’m team Daenerys tbh.
I can’t believe this show is going to be over next week. Thank you George RR Martin for your story and your magnificent characters.

Although I have a TON of misgivings about how Cersei went, I have to admit that Lena Headey was amazing tonight. She gave it everything she had, and she deserves an Emmy for that crying scene alone.
Facts. Stay pressed lecourseofwhatever.

Oh fuck off. She cried once. Big deal. She’s had a nothing performance this season, just like every other actor in the show not named Emilia Clarke or Peter Dinklage. Is it her fault? Of course not. She’s a fantastic actress. But a single crying scene that lasts about a minute is not Emmy-worthy acting. This is easily her worst season simply because she hasn’t been given anything to do.
well a scene that outacted everything jumping girl did, darling. You’re such a hater. Stop being peasant or I will send my troops to your residency area.

Please tell me how Jaime has changed since the first season. I don’t think he has at all.
It’s through remorse. Season 1 Jaime would have never apologised to Bran for pushing him out of the window. At the time, he believed his actions to be justified and wouldn’t apologise for it.
A lot of how he has changed has come through the fact that in Season 1, he could only be honest with his family. He didn’t have “Friends” or people he cared about who weren’t named Lannister. It was all about family.
But throughout the series he formed a key friendship/relationship with Brienne, who allowed him to look at himself through an honest lens. The main way he has changed is through self-acceptance. He understands who he is, and the consequences of his actions. Compare that to Season 1, he showed no remorse for any of his actions, whether it’s pushing Bran, killing the Mad King, attacking Ned in the streets etc.
