Jaime’s arc in the books is about his turning against Cersei, which happens much earlier than it does in the show. He is well-known to have killed a king to prevent the destruction of KL before (whereas in the show Cersei uses wildfire and Jaime doesn’t give a damn). And Cersei is prophesied to die being choked to death by her younger brother.

Have not occur to you that Jaime is not the most reliable source of information regarding his treason to King Aerys and Usurper King Robert?

Even Headey is disappointed with the material she got for this season but her stans will continue to blindly argue anyone on this forum saying basically the same thing

Darling, you know nothing, do you?

Yes, we are disappointed by the material, but she delivered with what she got and, of course, outacted the rest of the cast except for Emilia. She deserves that dildo. Period.

Lena Headey hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!

What kind of death do people wanted for Cersei?….She never had a fighting scene or had any ability to do it.

I think the ‘people’ in question would have preferred Cersei actually being killed by anyone’s hand rather than being killed by rocks.

I get the writers not giving in to that easy catharsis.  A leader like Cersei retreating and dying in isolation is rather appropriate.  But man they sure made her look silly the next week when Tyrion is surveying the area and the rocks only fell in concentrated areas.  Cersei + Jaime easily could have survived.

Cersei and Jaime’s deaths I think were a result of the writers trying to “subvert the expectations” of their audience. Game of Thrones was notorious for subverting people’s expectations with episodes like “Baelor” and “The Rains of Castamere.” What D&D fail to realize, though, is that GRRM’s twists had intricate foundations and happened for very significant reasons. There were major hints throughout the novels that Jaime might kill Cersei, which would be an excellent way of twisting the “valonqar” prophecy against Cersei. What D&D did was build up the notion of Jaime killing Cersei with his distrust towards her in the seventh season, and knowing that we expected it to happen they screwed up everything they could in order to make it not happen to “subvert our expectations.” As a result, Jaime’s character flips for no reason and he heads back to King’s Landing. Meanwhile, Cersei just watches through a window with a glass of wine all season as if she has a plan. She doesn’t, and the battle is disappointing and a total waste of Lena Headey, especially considering what she achieved in “Blackwater.” Honestly, anything would’ve been better than what Cersei got this year. Her lack of good material in Seasons 7 and 8 convinces me that as good as she was in “The Winds of Winter,” she served no valuable purpose to the narrative afterwards.

Cersie´s death is a crime. To see her running like a bitch everywhere and not confronting Daenerys at least once was hurtful.I like that she died with Jamie though.

I haven’t read the novels, but based on what I read online and what friends told me, I think Cersei will die in the books earlier than she did in the show. Maybe D&D didn’t have the courage to kill her off earlier aswell, but sadly they didn’t know what to do with her.

Cersei should have died in S7 and overall that season should have been a killer follow-up to S6 for Headey that would win her that Emmy.

Things that happened on the show that are unlikely to happen in the books:

1-Battle of Hardhome. In the books Jon send a group of the Free Folks to Hardhome while he made plans to go to Winterfell

2-Battle of the Bastards.- Unlikely because where the things left at the end of the books and my prediction is that Ramsay and Jon will never meet

3-The assassination of Myrcela by the Sand Snakes

4-The blowing of the Sept of Baelor

5-Cersei becoming Queen….Another dragon will probably sit in the Iron Throne before Daenerys arrive to Westeros.

I agree. Even though non-canon season 7 😉 was really dumb, its biggest sin is that it was boooring. They played the Cersei-Dany conflict in a nonsensical way where the only thing that was worth it was Dany finally counterattacking the Lannister army after they left Highgarden. Poor Cersei had no arc for two whole seasons. Did she ever even leave the Red Keep? Politically, they could’ve played out the fallout for the massacre at the Sept, but they kinda forgot

It’s laughable, Seth Meyers did a day drinking thing with Rihanna this past week and part of it was a skit where he would make up pick-up lines and one of them was “You look like a woman who’s also been underwhelmed by the GoT finale.” And to think GoT will win Best Drama, while everyone thinks it was trash.

I think that was just the interview location. It says where she currently lives further down (London).

Doesn’t she live in LA as well?

Just a reminder about THAT Emmy this show does not deserve.
