Caught up to The Undoing and I can’t believe there was tea that Ramirez was the standout and could win for this
November 29, 2020 at 3:13 pm #1203882904I love Aunjanue Ellis but the fact she got a Lead nomination over Emma Stone was kind of laughable. Was also a shame that Jonah Hill (who I couldn’t stand before watching the show) didn’t get any traction whatsoever. Both were excellent and win worthy.
Also the fourth episode (Furs by Sebastian) is one of the best stand alone episodes of television I have ever seen.
FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"
November 29, 2020 at 7:43 pm #1203883654Can we add Noma Dumezweni please? She is being unanimously priased and arguably has a shot at even winning.

November 30, 2020 at 9:49 am #1203884766Are we entirely sure I Hate Suzie and The Flight Attendant are going Comedy and Drama respectively and not the other way round or in Limited? They’re being described by HBO Max as all three of Comedy, Drama and Limited.

It is truly a massive hit here in the UK. Both Grant and Kidman went on Graham Norton midway through the show’s run at different times to promote it, I am seeing people who don’t usually watch television on my timeline talk about and literally the BBC f***ing News promoted it midway during its afternoon news.
I’m not a fan of the show’s quality but the comparisons to The Outsider are bizarre. I didn’t hear a single peep from anyone in the industry about the show (or anyone I know really) whilst everyone I know is talking about it and high profile in the industry have been praising Dumezweni and the show (see Ava DuVernay).

Not unrelated but every episode has been featured on current season of Gogglebox (which is experiencing record ratings due to lockdown), outside of reality shows the only other scripted programmes to get featured weekly were Killing Eve, GoT8 and The Crown 3+4.

December 1, 2020 at 4:35 am #1203886567I decided to go a bit left field and predict Letitia Wright over Shira Haas and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
I have a feeling in this particular year her performance stands a better chance because of how timely it is. Plus I feel like it has the most buzz out of the whole Small Axe crowd even though Mangrove doesn’t have the most buzz in terms of the episodes of the show.
I still think she’s getting snubbed at the Emmys though unless she goes supporting (where she should submit because in no way was she the lead of Mangrove).

It kinda makes sense just to differentiate itself from the 1997 film. Nothing will ever too High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for bad names. Maybe the upcoming High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The Holiday Special.
