I so do not want to take Issa Rae (the only woman of color of the category) out of my prediction center, but I don’t see Levy missing.

For me it will be, O’Hara – Fanning – Collins – Levy – Applegate

Imagining one of the Amell cousins with an acting recognition it’s so strange, they are so bad, i can’t.

The thing with Levy is I’ve literally seen no one outside of GD talk about the show and I’ve seen no one in the industry mention it. That hasn’t been the case for The Great where I’ve seen lots of people in the industry talk about it online. I mean I’m rooting for no one in this category (Billie Piper has been robbed!) but I feel quite confident that Fanning is winning (ironically both Fanning and winning rhyme). The Great is both a bigger show with the gp and the industry and is likelier to land with a Series nomination (imo).

But the Golden Globes isn’t an industry award… It’s not like people were talking about Crazy Ex Girlfriend when its lead actress won.

But I’m not only talking about the industry. I’ve seen no buzz whatsoever for the show outside of here. Whether it’s from critics or audiences.

I don’t know why people are acting like Hugh Grant knowing how to act is a shock when he’s done Florence Foster JenkinsPaddington 2, A Very English Scandal and The Gentleman

…this is why I think we’re underestimating him for the win. People seem to think that Hugh Grant knowing how to act is some sort of novelty factor because of The Undoing. I don’t see Nicole winning here but at this point it’s a two horse race between him and Hawke in this category.

Considering how the Globes tend to award at least one Emmy winner I wonder if that person is Aduba? I only say that because I have a feeling with the combined categories at the Globes that if both Anderson and Corrin get nominated neither will win (although if only Anderson gets nominated I think she’d probably win).

    Just watched Emma.
It was fun seeing Prince Charles and Beth Harmon united.

And Netflix’s supporting actress campaign for Gillian Anderson has begun.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7g_vNdfWgc

An obscure actress called Olivia Colman who co-starred with Meryl Streep in the Thatcher biopic The Iron Lady had this to say about Anderson’s performance:

You could just see her becoming that person. The voice and the movements and the walk and the way she held her handbag, the way she sat, the way she did those low ironic curtsies. She just did it so beautifully and brilliantly that I can’t picture anyone else doing it.

Considering how HBO Max is submitting I Hate Suzie in Drama (terrible choice btw) I wonder if they’re going to submit The Flight Attendant in Comedy. If they do then no further discussion really needs to be made about Comedy Actress and we’d probably have a four way race in Comedy Series between it. The Flight Attendant vs The Great vs Ted Lasso vs Schitt’s Creek.

Its escapist nature, Cuoco’s acclaimed performance, its 98% Rotten Tomatoes critics score and it being the flagship comedy of a new network are things that should not be ignored in predictions.

If The flight attendant does go comedy, I think cucco will win comedy actress. I am gonna leave in drama for now until its confirmed. I definitely have room in comedy for it

I think people are underestimating the musical aspect of Levy’s show and the fact the show will be airing when GG happens. I’m sorry but no one has been talking about The Great for months and Elle Fanning is not a star. If she is one then Lily Collins is A list.

Unironically, They have a somehow a similar career path. Have a recognizable relative in the Industry, oftenly left undone in shit movies, and wasted in a Blockbuster (I consider Fanning was wasted in Both Maleficent movies) yet they have a great comedic performance this year (The Great had a better reception). But you lost me at if Fanning is a Star, Collins is A-list. Fanning almost got nominated for Oscars back in 2013 for Ginger&Rosa. I’d say they are B-list Borderline to A-list.

The thing with Levy is I’ve literally seen no one outside of GD talk about the show and I’ve seen no one in the industry mention it. That hasn’t been the case for The Great where I’ve seen lots of people in the industry talk about it online.

Yep. Not to mention Period Dramas are always an Award Baity property (Musical too, but for Period Pieces is more award baity). And also yeah Im rooting for Fanning

And personally I think the Industry has been waiting for the right time to award her with A Major award after being overlooked for so long. Don’t get me wrong, she is one of the most acclaimed performer in her age bracket alongside Anya-Taylor Joy, Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Hailee Steinfeld and Haley Lu Richardson (I Want to include Saoirse Ronan as well but she is in her own league), has been working with  both Coppolas, David Fincher, Alejandro Inarrittu, JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg yet she doesn’t get the recognizition she deserves.

I would say the same to Nicholas Hoult. the guy had some bad luck with his leading projects yet he always been a scene stealer in his supporting roles apart from X-Men franchises. Now with The Great he has a great time being the main male lead I Think Hoult should snatch Supporting Actor as well and The Great has proven that He is one of the best Villain typecast working right now

The thing is The Great is locked for three nominations at the Globes (Series, Actress and S. Actor). Had it premiered a few months earlier it could very well have been win competitive for the Series Emmy (I mean it got into both writing and directing so it HAD support).

But the thing that really makes me think Hoult and Fanning have a very strong chance at winning here is that these are actors who seem like very typical HFPA choices. Someone mentioned how no one would watch Fanning in a film because of her name but there is literally an Oscar bait film being released next year whose main pull is the fact both Fanning sisters are in it. Hoult isn’t some massive A lister but he’s had supporting roles in both big blockbuster franchises and BP Oscar nominated films (X Men for the former, Mad Max for both and The Favourite for the latter). Now he has the perfect role for the HFPA to award him. In fact I’d go so far to say that both him and Fanning were next in line in their categories at the Emmys.

Put it this way. Both Hoult and Fanning are in the same group of people the HFPA asks to come to their telecast because they’re young industry darlings. The same can’t be said of anyone in at least Fanning’s category apart from Applegate (who seems like a lock for a nom but non-factor for a win) and Collins (whose shows isn’t strong enough for her to win).
