The one I am all over the place in is Comedy Actress. I can see any of Cuoco, Fanning, Levy or O’Hara winning. Cuoco has a lot of individual buzz but she could just as easily end up being the Jennifer Aniston of this year. O’Hara’s show has the most nominations but something tells me the HFPA are going to want to go for someone new. Fanning feels like a typical HFPA upset and she is in a show that is essentially angling to be the comedy version of The Crown. Levy could win like Rachel Bloom and she also performed at the HFPA banquet like Ramy Youssef did last year.

This prompted me to look over the lists that I submitted for Chris to build the predictions centre and The Crown might really get half of the slots in that category. And Gillian Anderson would still win.

It’s absolutely crazy because at least when Game of Thrones was in a similar situation in supporting actress for its final season you had a Gwendoline Christie and a Maisie Williams to siphon votes from Lena Headey and you had a SAG nominated Julia Garner to benefit. There doesn’t seem to be a Christie, Garner or Williams this year.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

I’m literally still all over the place in my head trying to decide between Dan Levy and John Boyega. I honestly hope that if the one I end up picking loses, the other one loses as well so I don’t feel bad (but please don’t let it be Donald Sutherland).

FYC Emmys: Zosia Mamet for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, Wunmi Mosaku for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, It's a Sin for every possible category: Limited Series, Writing, Directing, Actor (Olly Alexander), Actress (Lydia West), Supp. Actor (Callum Scott-Howells) and Supp. Actress (Keeley Hawes).

I have been on The Crown/The Queen’s Gambit ship longer than most on here and almost this whole season through and I may be overestimating this but are the HFPA really going to award two out of three of their series awards to Netflix shows?

I guess HBO did win 2 out of 3 last year and the HFPA don’t have as much of a bias against Netflix as the Television Academy do but idk.

I doubt the HFPA cares about that at all. They’re the only one of the major awards orgs willing to acknowledge the CW exists, after all.

So in the last two years the only shows nominated for Limited Series to go home empty handed were The Alienist (which lost both categories to Versace), Catch-22 (which lost both to Chernobyl and fellow series nominee The Loudest Voice) and Unbelievable which lost to the Emmy winner in each of its categories.

If The Queen’s Gambit wins Series + Actress as projected then Unorthodox and Normal People will go home empty handed and there is an Emmy winner in both Supporting Actor and Actor in a Limited Series so it will be interesting to see Small Axe and The Undoing could go home empty handed. I think the former will win S. Actor and the latter will win Limited Actor.

I really have no idea who to predict for Drama Actor. I don’t think it will be Bateman, but I also don’t see O’Connor winning. Could Matthew Rhys upset? Thoughts?

Also, is Schitt’s Creek a lock for comedy series? Their wins at the Emmys make me think yes, but Ted Lasso also has a ton of support and will probably win Lead Actor, so I’m not quite sure.

I want to predict Murphy but I have a gut feeling about Anderson.

The truth is that is impossible to the predict the Globes. They have done everything in the last years. They have rewarded Emmy darlings for their final seasons – Breaking Bad, The Americans, but they have ignored other veterans until the end – Game of Thrones, Veep… So if they really love Schitt’s Creek, it will be the winner. But if they do not, they can go for some other show.

Anderson is the safest choice

For Your Emmy Consideration:
Matthew Rhys for "Perry Mason" as Leading Actor in a Drama Series
Ethan Hawke for "The Good Lord Bird" as Leading Actor in a Limited Series
Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn for "Wandavision" as Leading and Supporting actress in Limited Series
Tobias Menzies for "The Crown" as Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
MJ Rodriguez for "Pose" as Leading Actress in a Drama Series.

Some sweeps will begin today: Jason Sudeikis, Kaley Cuoco and Emma Corrin.

Taylor Joy will have more competition at the Emmys, and I believe Coel will win Critics Choice.

Tonight we might find out which of Hugh Grant and Ethan Hawke are more vulnerable at the Emmys.
