    Fiona Shaw deserved!

I agree, her role was small, but it hilarious

Jenrette wasn’t good, however she was definitely not a cameo. There were worse nominations than her IMO: Margo Martindale and her wins for “The Americans”, Laverne Cox nomination last year, Robert De Niro for SNL, Fiona Shaw for Fleabag…

Cherry Jones winning for The Handmaid’s Tale 💀

Cherry Jones winning for The Handmaid’s Tale 💀

Her two noms were ridiculous, let alone that disastrous win.

Erm, Fiona was definitely a far superior nominee than Kelly was. Fiona didn’t necessarily have a big role but her interaction with Phoebe on episode 2 was hilarious.

Rege-Jean Page’s episode of SNL was quite well received, he’s probably in the top 3 in the Drama Actor race and NBC seem to be campaigning his episode. I think he’s getting into the guest category à la Oh and that both him and Levy are ahead of Daniel Kaluuya (Kaluuya was good and I liked him more than Page and Levy but what reason is there for them to check him off? They don’t tend to take to film stars hosting SNL in this category).

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

True. There’s only been five non-alumni film stars nominated recently. Tom Hanks and Adam Driver (both of whom were central in some of the most popular sketches of all time), Brad Pitt & Robert de Niro (who got nominated for whom they were playing) and finally Melissa McCarthy, whom is a Groundlings alumni and was on a CBS multi-cam for 2/3 of her SNL noms, and then eventually won for whom she was playing.

Kaluuya doesn’t fit into any of these as a film star nominee.

    LMFAOO this scene was everything!!

“Good night to you both. Good riddance to bad rubbish”. Should’ve gotten 2 Emmys for that scene alone.

I really like when the Guest Acting categories include less well-known actors who do outstanding one-and-done work on a show (yes, like Kelly Jenrette!) instead of just honoring more famous, well-established actors or series almost-regulars who score Guest nods (and a better chance of winning) just because they’re not in enough episodes over the course of a season. It’s great when these categories celebrate genuine “guests” on a series, and also give a big career boost to actors who deserve a break. I mean seriously, Brad Pitt’s great, but did he really deserve a nomination for his Anthony Fauci impression in a five minute SNL sketch? Weren’t there many much funnier performances from unknown guest actors on lots of other comedy series?
