According to critics, this is supposed to be one best comedies debuts ever and Hbo max just released the first two episodes.

I watched the pilot and it’s good but not great, laughed one or two times. Jean Smart is amazing of course. Hannah Einbinder is lead too and she has good material but the performance is just ok. I didn’t care about the rest of the cast.

    Anyone else watching?

I enjoyed the first two episodes. I’m interested in where things go with this!

The first two episodes were good but not revolutionary as I was expecting, I guess?

Both episodes are Emmy winning submissions for Jean Smart.

The funniest scene was on episode 2 when Ava picked up the jar and started screaming at the seller LOL.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

I thought it was so fucking great. Eibinder and Smart chemistry is another level. I want them both to win.

The wait for the next episodes is going to suck. I think these kind of shows should be released at all once and shows like Dark and Mare of Easttown, where there’s a mystery, should be released weekly.

This might be my favourite new comedy of the season.

Obsessed with this show after two episodes. I have been on the Ted Lasso train since that show surprised me last summer, but I may quickly be jumping behind this. The first episode did a nice job setting everything up but if the rest of the season is like episode two, nominate it for everything. Jean Smart is amazing and so happy she is getting a role like this.

Very strong first couple of episodes! I was worried that this was going to be a Late Night/High Note rehash, but this isn’t afraid to have more of a bite and make its characters unlikable which I LOVE. Smart and Einbinder are so awesome, though I keep thinking the latter is Maya Hawke lol. I’m still rooting for a Kaley Cuoco win, but both are totally win-worthy, and I’d be happy to see either get trophies. Great show so far, can’t wait for more!

Emmys FYC: Maya Erskine in PEN15, Paapa Essiedu in I May Destroy You, Keeley Hawes in It's a Sin, Carl Lumbly in TFATWS, Cristin Milioti in Made for Love, Elizabeth Olsen in WandaVision, Billie Piper in I Hate Suzie, Hailee Steinfeld in Dickinson, William Zabka in Cobra Kai

Hacks first two episodes had me cracking up from start to finish. If it’s quality is at this level for the rest of its run, I think it will upset Ted Lasso for best comedy, especially with HBO behind it. Smart stole the Emmy when she stole the fork and steak in the pilot. She is giving me EVERYTHING!

I’m loving this so far, but I don’t think it’ll be strong enough to overcome Ted Lasso.

I May Destroy You, It’s a Sin, Stateless & The Queens Gambit

Almost unbelievable how unfunny this is. Smart deserves better. Will continue to watch for Meg Stalter, I guess lol

Really loving Hacks, but it better have some pay off because I’m not a fan of workplace harassment, psychological torture and abuse of power, because that’s exactly what the show is doing and making fun of by portraying Deborah Vance in a bright way.

This show isn’t like the best in the entire history of comedy but I still find it really enjoyable.

And Smart owns every moment she’s on screen (as she should).

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

It’s better than Ted Lasso (which I loved), for sure.

There was a scene at episode 3 that really bothered me because it was straight up bullying and the show didn’t portray that as such. That’s my only problem with the show so far and I hope there’s a pay off to this kind of The Devil Wears Prada stuff.
