This was trending above green lantern last night. People saying GOT is over are ignorant. Wheel of time and lord of the rings Will have a hard time to keep up with iT. Primarily because it is on Amazon which doesn’t have a lot of subscribersOctober 30, 2019 at 6:18 am #1203158729
If they also cover Robert’s Rebellion I hope they don’t cast the same Rhaegar Targaryen because that would ruin it for me.October 30, 2019 at 6:30 am #1203158752
Wheel of time is gonna flop. There’s a reason those books haven’t been adapted. And Lord of the rings isn’t going to be the big thing people expect it to be.
HBO has picked the right prequel to move forward with. It’s not too recent, not too ancient; has dragons and features events that the original show mentioned but never went into detail. The potential of it connecting with the original show adds to the appeal. The biggest boon is that show is planned from beginning to end in its entirety by GRRM. I was worried about Bloodmoon but definitely not this. It is already generating markedly more excitement and chatter than its cancelled predecessor ever did.
Who would be your dream cast for Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya?October 30, 2019 at 6:37 am #1203158772

Amazon Prime has tons of subscribers, especially in Europe. Most people don’t realize there is a streaming service attached to it but it’s not a big deal with a right marketing campaign that will bring more awareness to it.October 30, 2019 at 6:56 am #1203158801
Why has this show excited me to the point where I want to rewatch Game of Thrones… something I told myself I’ll never do
even though I knew I was lying to myself??
I want to go back to GRRM’s imaginary world in anticipation for this show!
You can never go wrong with the Targaryens, the most interesting House with the most interesting characters and history. This has me SHOOK to the core and casting hasn’t even been announced yet. I hope Nina Gold + Robert Stern are involved in the casting.
George R. R. Martin + Miguel Sapochnik = GOLD!
Beginning of 2021 please!October 30, 2019 at 6:59 am #1203158806
This show will have all those iconic locations and imagery GoT had. KL, Winterfell, Iron Throne, Dragonstone, dragons, Starks, Lannisters,..
I don’t think this will be like Fantastic Beasts or similar spin offs, because here there is a lot of interesting characters and stories. And I expect even more to be created and fleshed out for the show.
Also the fact that it will be focused on one family will give it spine that GoT/ASOIAF sometimes lacked.
This show will be great succes for HBO. And unlike GoT it won’t change tone from more political to more fantasy story. It will have consistent tone until the end.October 30, 2019 at 7:18 am #1203158840This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 30, 2019 at 9:52 am #1203159042
I’m excited for another chance that someone else other than Dinklage gets to win an acting Emmy for these shows. The women of GoT were done so dirty at the Emmys, and the Targaryens should provide enough meatiness and hype for one to finally win.
“No user starts this shady” - someone culturally relevant.
Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.October 30, 2019 at 10:26 am #1203159090
I am excited for this. 300 years prior to GOT means a completely different series. The beginning of the Targaryen house… like a dream come true. I know all of Hollywood is trying to be casted in this series.
My biggest concern is if the cast will have the same appeal that the GOT cast had.October 30, 2019 at 3:18 pm #1203159499
The fact that Miguel Sapochnik is Co-Showrunner and the main director for this show gives me some hope. I know Bryan Cogman pitched them an idea for this before and HBO shot it down. The fact that they ordered 10 episodes already gives me hope.October 30, 2019 at 3:36 pm #1203159526
I just hope they use better wigs in this one.October 30, 2019 at 3:43 pm #1203159541

Or just hire actors with white-blonde hair. As much as I love Emilia Clarke, she was not the Daenerys I had in mind after reading the books. Daenerys is tall, sickly, yet still beautiful. The actress I think would’ve matched book Daenerys was the actress from Mad Max: Fury Road. So hopefully they consider her for a part.October 30, 2019 at 4:32 pm #1203159603
Miguel Saponchnik already is proving himself as a better showrunner than D&D after this article. He definitely wants more control as a director ad being a co-showrunner allows him to have that control. I approve.October 30, 2019 at 5:24 pm #1203159663
While I am excited about this, especially since Miguel Sapochnik is at the helm……I did like the diversity of the other show.
