Btw, if anyone wants to motivate more people to watch the show, you can pitch it here like I did.

    Got it1 Thanks

I absolutely agree!! I guess we can only hope! Viola will be getting awards love next year for Widows, so at least I have that to look forward to :))

I am glad to be around here this year for HTGAWM S5! I am sure we will have interesting conversations.

You’re exactly right. We can hope, and I guess we’ll see. 🙂 And yes about Widows! To say i’m looking forward to that would be an understatement.

I’m glad you’re here for HTGAWM convo’s and critiques of the episodes. It’s fun, if I do say so, myself LOL.

I can’t wait to we get some news on any guest stars or possible series regulars. Rome Flynn, whom we saw in the last scene in the finale has already been promoted to series regular, so apparently he has a huge arc. The debate is still out on what type of actor he is, but hopefully, he will rise to the occasion. LOL

I am very curious to see what Flynn does with the role. Bu tit’s hard to act opposite such an excellent cast and give a bad performance. I seriously cannot wait for the insane twists that are ahead.

His character didn’t die despite his serious health crisis. Very possible he gets an episode or two to wrap up his character.

CONGRATS TO GIGANTICALLY GIFTED VIOLA DAVIS (Meryl’s voice) for yet another emmy nomination! So, she didn’t make the cut for lead actress drama. I’ll take a guest nomination for the same role!

Bittersweet. But they thought enough of her to secure her a nomination.

I can’t believe my prediction was right and she made it. I jumped up when I saw both her and Cicely on the ballot.

I am rooting for Cicely to win this award because her submission is fantastic.

As it relates to the Emmy nods: I wasn’t shocked Viola was snubbed her fourth nod in the Drama Actress category, because as it relates to black actresses, they typically have two or three shots before they’re dismissed by the Academy. That’s a pattern I’ve seen with Kerry Washington, Chandra Wilson, and Taraji P. Henson. Still, Davis gave one of the greatest performances this television season and deserved that fourth nod.

I am happy that she and Cicely Tyson are nominated for Drama Guest Actress, a category Viola’s destined to win. I’ve seen many people say Kerry Washington was snub, but I don’t feel it was a snub at all. Viola’s performance was stronger of the two, so I feel the Academy made the right call.

I do wish the Academy showed more love for HTGAWM this past season with a Supporting Actress nod for Aja Naomi King, a Supporting Actor nod for Jimmy Smits, a Guest Actor nod for Glynn Turman and a Writing nod for Peter Nowalk, with Emmy nods for King and Nowalk for seasons past.

As it relates to S5: I love this show, but the Keating 5 can only be in law school for so long (aren’t they in their second year already?), so my question is how much time do we have left? Thankfully, they’ve been renewed for S5 but do you think the show has enough life left for S6 and a possible Season 7? I;m thinking we’ll get a S6, but after that the series will end.

Chandra Wilson and Sandra Oh has recieved five nominations for Grey’s Anatomy. Katherine Heigl recieved one. Ellen Pompeo, Sarah Drew, Kate Walsh and any other main white actresses on the show recieved zero nominations.

Kerry Washington recieved two nominations for Scandal. No white actresses were nominated for the show.  Also, Scandal was never really strong other than Washington and some guest performers, so it wasn’t a shock that she got only two nominations for that flop. But Washington also recieved nominations for her lead turn in Confirmation and as the producer of her project.

Viola Davis recieved four nominations for her turn as Annalise Keating. Cicely Tyson got in three times in guest (she canceled herself out with the House of Cards performance for Season 2.). Oscar-winner Marcia Gay Harden and Famke Janssen both failed to be nominated in guest. Liza Weil or any other white cast members were never nominated for an Emmy. Also, anyone who has followed the strong race in Drama Actress this year know, that the category was too crowded for Viola this year. I’d personally nominate her, but she is in a show no one cares about and it’s a great miracle she still managed to get 4 nominations for her performance.

Pulling out the race card for no reason is a huge no-no in my book, so please don’t do it next time. All these black actresses ARE WAY MORE POPULAR than any other white actresses in their own shows. That’s just a Shonda effect you see here. After a while the quality of her shows goes down and these fantastic actresses fail to receive more nominations. It happens to any white actresses in a flop shows. That is all.

So did I! Very exciting. It really speaks to her growing respect and admiration from the Academy at this point as well.

Emmyfan, i’d love to see Cicely win as well! Her episode/performance was excellent!!

@tamartian, I agree about the law school part, but it is television, so they certainly have a way to get around that. But I believe they will likely go to season 6, and they’ll close it. Viola has become too in demand with film projects. But i’m quite certain they’ll ensure enough episodes for syndication.
