    Overnight, the annual Canadagraphs awards let their voters know that Kristen Bell won her third consecutive Best Comedy Actress award, beating back a couple of challengers from The Big Bang Theory’s final season. Ranking is as follows:

    1. KRISTEN BELL, THE GOOD PLACE 16%
    2. MAYIM BIALIK, BIG BANG THEORY 15%
    3. KALEY CUOCO, BIG BANG THEORY 14%
    4. Melissa Fumero, Brooklyn Nine-Nine 11%

    Good news for the show; its 3rd consecutive Hugo Award nomination was secured recently for Best Dramatic Presentation: Short Form. The winner will be announced at the WorldCon convention in New Zealand in August.

    The nominees are:
    Doctor Who: “Resolution”, written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Wayne Yip (BBC)

    The Expanse: “Cibola Burn”, written by Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck and Naren Shankar, directed by Breck Eisner (Amazon Prime)

    The Good Place: “The Answer”, written by Daniel Schofield, directed by Valeria Migliassi Collins (NBC)

    Watchmen: “A God Walks into Abar”, written by Jeff Jensen and Damon Lindelof, directed by Nicole Kassell and “This Extraordinary Being”, written by Damon Lindelof and Cord Jefferson, directed by Stephen Williams

    The Mandalorian: “Redemption”, written by Jon Favreau, directed by Taika Waititi (Disney+)

    Good news for the show; its third consecutive (and final) Hugo Award nomination was secured recently for Best Dramatic Presentation: Short Form.

    They could get nominated next year for their finale, no? Eligibility seems to follow the calendar year.

    Yeah you’re right, actually. I was mistaken in the belief A God Walks Into Abar’s airdate was in January. So Patty and Whenever You’re Ready WOULD be 2021-eligible. But as for this year, the nomination will have to be the win. A God Walks into Abar will be very tough to beat.

    This afternoon GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics announced its inaugural nominations in TV and The Good Place snagged NBC’s lone notice for Best TV Comedy. Congratulations!
