    Respect!
Always respect creators for doing this, when the show is still in a relatively very good form.

Really like TGP and Schur is crazy talented. Wonder what he will do next.

The Good Place will have impressively been nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series for half of its seasons.

Are we totally sure it’s getting in this year? I mean, I hope it is, but I’m not that confident, it’s a competitive year. I think only Veep, TMMM, and Barry are actually locks

Good news, the show was already stretching its storylines with just 13 episodes per seasons and the quality would have continued to decline

    I don’t think it is.

How is it a competitive year? You’ve got your locks (the unholy trinity of Veep, Maisel and Barry) and TGP. The rest are extreme niche shows whose fanbases are engaged in wishful thinking (Fleabag, Schitt’s Creek, Grace/Frankie, Better Things, UKS, MCExGF), dramas masquerading as comedies (Dead to Me, Russian Doll), people who have long overstayed their Emmy welcome (Janney) and shows on the decline (Black-ish). It’s not that complicated, folks, once you sort out the wheat from the chaff.

Janney has absolutely not overstayed her welcome, go watch some Mom. And Russian Doll is a comedy.

I’m actually happy to hear this. There’s only so many times you can reset the plot until it becomes too much, no matter how creative.

This is definitely sad news, but I do agree with Schur that it’s better to end the show now when it’s still at its creative peak instead of letting it last several more seasons and becoming trash.

Sad to see it go, but I think it was its time.

Also, a show that’s gotten a nomination for Comedy Series for every single one of its seasons so far is not an extreme niche show.

Before 2016, there were only 4 people alive that I trusted in bringing a great TV series to life; Joss Whedon (Buffy), Ronald Moore (BSG), Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars) and Simon Barry (Continuum). Michael Schur was #5. And as gutted as Team Cockroach is right now, still in mourning, if he believes now is the time to wrap things up while it’s still on a creative high, after breaking through w/4 guild nominations, a Nebula (Ray Bradbury Award) nom, successive Hugo Award nominations, TCA and Peabody wins, then fork it, I trust him. Look at what happened to the American The Office; and Murphy Brown; and Will and Grace; shells of themselves because they hung on too long.

That doesn’t shake my belief that TV is a lot worse off now. Maybe in a decade or so, TGP will get a Heritage Award from the TV Critics Association.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree, but the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the VERY DEFINITION of an extreme niche show that snookered the Academy into believing it was the best thing since sliced bread. And undeserving in its Comedy Series nomination every single forking year. Couldn’t even cut it on NBC and they had to tuck tail between their legs to Netflix.

“Kimmy Fights a Fire Monster”? Really?

Never heard of this until just a few minutes ago: the Hollywood Reporter has 6 “Social Climbers” charts that rank the most popular personalities and TV shows based on data from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube. The Good Place debuted this week at #6 on the latter list after series finale announcement:
