honestly i dont really like about award with small number of voter…TCA it self only 250 voter they called them self “tv Critic” …. if you said that this award nomination mirroring of Emmy nomination it could be fair…..

just like Golden Globe with 90 people acting like they’re dominate entire entertainment award industry…

Not at all, TCA have taste, they are fair and coherent, and are very selective. Even who they nominates matters. I was the first one to notice a few years ago that most of their nominees in the Drama line-up (since they combine genders, lead, supporting, drama, tv movies and limited series) directly become winners if they compite in different categories. Examples:

    2018 – 2019 nominees:

    Michelle Williams Fosse/Verdon (FX)
Amy Adams – Sharp Objects (HBO)
Patricia Arquette – Escape at Dannemora (Showtime)
Christine Baranski – The Good Fight (CBS All Access)
Jodie Comer – Killing Eve (BBC America)
    Billy Porter – Pose (FX)

Here only 3 nominees could have won and they all did. Comer in Drama actress, Porter in Drama actor, then Adams, Arquette and Williams were in the same category, so Williams won over both just like she did here. Baranski was snubbed. Still, they love for Arquette did not went unnoticed, she won in Supporting for The Act. So, 4 out of 6 nominees won the Emmy after their nominations here.

    2017-2018 nominees:

    Keri Russell The Americans (FX)
Jodie Comer – Killing Eve (BBC America)
Darren Criss – The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (FX)
Elisabeth Moss – The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu)
Sandra Oh – Killing Eve (BBC America)
Matthew Rhys – The Americans (FX)

They are especially good with men, both Criss and Rhys won the Emmy after their nominations here. Russell, Oh and Moss competed in the same category, more famous as the Drama actress masacre, which was won by Clair Foy. Comer was snubbed (this also happens a lot, only 1 of 6 nominees is snubbed).

Let’s see last year, 2019-2020, which is a weak year for them, with 3 snubs at the Emmys, but still many similarities:

    Regina King Watchmen (HBO)
Cate Blanchett – Mrs. America (FX on Hulu)
    Kaitlyn Dever – Unbelievable (Netflix)
Mark Ruffalo – I Know This Much Is True (HBO)
Rhea Seehorn – Better Call Saul (AMC)
    Jeremy Strong – Succession (HBO)
    Merritt Wever – Unbelievable (Netflix)

I told you they were good with men, again, 2 out of 2, both Ruffalo and Strong won the Emmy. King and Blanchett were in the same category, again, the winner here (King) won the Emmy. Seehorn would have been the only snub at the Emmys in a normal year, but last year was the first with the 5 limites slots for Limited series, so Dever and Wever fall victims to that.

TCS is incredibly important, I think that like last year, it would be filled with Limited series contenders mostly. Have in mind that they do NOT like British shows, The Crown has just 1 nomination here – Claire Foy for season 1, while Downton Abbey has 0, yes, 0 nominations.

    It actually has 5.

Have in mind that they do NOT like British shows,

In the performance category perhaps but Howards End, Fleabag, Normal People, Chernobyl, Patrick Melrose, The Night Manager, Wolf Hall, Broadchurch, Top of the Lake

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

In the Individual Achievement category, he means.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

Fair enough. But the circumstances for its snubs weren’t because it was British. Both Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh made it in for Killing Eve season 1.

Yeah, I disagree that they don’t like british shows. Broadchurch and Fleabag (before it was popular) were nominated there.

Yeah, exactly, I was referring to that category only.

Sorry, but it is a fact, there is nothing to agree with, a British show has never won that category – NEVER. Acting juggernauts like Downton Abbey and Sherlock have 0 noms. Acting darling The Crown has only 1 nom. Broadchurch also has 0 noms in this category.

The only exception here is Killing Eve and that is a very atypical British show.

In Comedy, there are two more exceptions and both have even won – Phoebe Waller-Bridge for Fleabag and Ricky Gervais for The Office, but as a whole, British shows have performed horribly in acting here.

That’s not because they’re British lol. Up until 2015 TCA had only 5 slots. Do they supposedly hate Frances McDormand as well because they didn’t used to nominate performances from limited series?
