Variety just announced that only new drama and comedy series will be nominated. No limited or returning series. So expect mostly auteur comedies or drama shows like Euphoria and P-Valley.September 30, 2020 at 8:59 pm #1203747491
Why exclude Limited then?September 30, 2020 at 9:47 pm #1203747653
could We Are Who We Are get some noms?October 1, 2020 at 5:05 am #1203748197
When HBO says I May Destroy You is a new Series just so it can sweep and then puts it in Limited at the Emmys…
I guess we can expect Dave to pop up here?

I don’t see why Limited Series should be exluded based on the existing rules?
2. A new series is defined as having all or part of its first season broadcast within the eligibility
period of January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020.
An anthology series is only eligible in its first season. Series continuations (reboots and revivals)
after hiatus are not eligible. All genres are eligible.
3. Episodes must be at least 18 minutes in length and a minimum of three (3) episodes must have
been broadcast, transmitted or available via a commercial streaming platform within the eligibility
window. Series must be available via network, basic cable, pay cable, pay television, pay-perview, interactive cable, broadband, or digital distribution through streaming platforms.
It’s hard to argue that things like Unorthodox should be ineligible under these rules. It’s after all the first (and only) season of the program lol.October 1, 2020 at 6:58 am #1203748464
Lol it’ll be funny if an awards for “indie” television is swept by HBO of all.

Being a limited series doesn’t preclude it from being new! This will exclude Michaela Cole completely, and that ain’t right.
