He made some points… but 60%? Good luck with that.July 7, 2020 at 2:02 pm #1203572528
I mean this forum would rather predict a never-happening Rhea nom than Thandie or Run over Insecure so it makes sense.July 7, 2020 at 2:02 pm #1203572532

Ngl the whitest and straightest show on tv Succession winning best drama isn’t really a good look for diversityJuly 7, 2020 at 2:13 pm #1203572568

This. The fact that Girls kept getting flowers long after it’s creative & cultural peak but Insecure at it’s most popular, resonant & creative peak right now struggles for consideration is laughable.
If I had my way Ellis & Rothwell would both be Emmy nominees by now alongside Rae & Orij with trophies on their selves.
Who in the hell is predicting Run at this stage? like sure if it February I could understand but it’s July and looks like it’s gonna be the new Vinyl. Cmon people
Can’t speak on the incumbent Thandie since I also have her getting dropped but I have Westworld getting dropped as a whole.July 7, 2020 at 2:13 pm #1203572570
“In the 68 years of the Emmy awards, only THREE Black shows have ever been nominated for Best Comedy Series, Atlanta, Black-ish, and The Cosby Show, and only the latter has won.”
I’m still so fucking salty at fucking Veep winning over Atlanta season 1. Fuck
Best Actress - Pénélope Cruz, Olivia Colman
Best Actor - Denzel Washington
Best Supporting Actress - Aunjanue Ellis, Kathryn HunterJuly 7, 2020 at 2:14 pm #1203572577
Ok but Succession also happens to be the best show on TV so…
Agreed but they do need to look into writing better stories for their handful of PoC cast members and not treat them as an afterthought. Creating a more diverse writers room should be the first step as mentioned.July 7, 2020 at 2:14 pm #1203572579
The experts were called out, which I find utterly ridiculous. The complaint should be directed toward the TV academy, not prognosticaters. They’re going off of what the academy likes, not what they like. I 100% support the point that’s being made, but the comment wasn’t dragging Gold Derby, and the fact that a thread was headlined as such is not correct. Not now
