They said they’re going to cross out “Virgin” in the episode title treatment and have like “Jane the Teacher” or whatever based on the storyline for each episode.

This season has been really good. I think this is one of the smartest, wittiest, most heartfelt shows on TV.

I won’t lie, I was a tad disappointed with the sex episode, but it was still good. It relied to heavily on sex tropes, imo.

So…this was accidentally spoiled a few weeks ago and I can’t believe it’s actually real. Jane and Michael are one of my favorite couples of all time, they were the heart of this beautiful show. And now, here we are…it’s devastating and imo, it’s manipulative. It makes Michael seem like a plot device.

The only good thing about this is that Gina is truly a one of a kind actress.

She will be amazing …but this show is my happy place! Now what? In today’s world, I really needed it.

The show needed something like this. It was going nowhere. The whole Solano crime storyline has been stretched more than it needed to (Rose back again? Why?), the Catalina thing didn’t work at all, Jane and Michael weren’t getting anything interesting to do, their careers were moving along, sure, but this is still weekly television show, a drama, basically a telenovela and finding a new job is exciting for…no one. Rogelio was carrying the comedy, nobody else was working in that department, and they weren’t really doing anything excting for the Rafael/Michael/Jane triangle, leaving Rafael without anything relevant to do.

I do love Brett Dier on this show, it’s sad to see any good actor or good character leave, but Jane is not the biggest hit around, it was getting boring, excitement is needed somewhere. And at the end of the day, sadly for Michael’s fans, you know Rafael is the lead male character and the obvious final love interest for Jane, so losing Michael isn’t that bad. The normal, regular, boring blonde guy is not “IT” for a show like this, I think they noticed how badly they were doing with Rafael and needed to get rid of Michael to focus on only one male lead. At this point Rogelio was getting much more to do than Rafael.

Again, sad to see Michael go, but this makes a little bit of sense.

Given the headlines from last night, I kinda knew what to expect going into this episode, but the last two minutes aside, I thought this was an excellent episode. The amount of plot they crush into 42 minutes always astounds me, but especially last night. And Gina was even better than usual last night, and I anticipate she’ll have even better material going forward. I agree that the death and time jump are going to reenergize the show. Now that we’ve come to the end of part two, how many parts do we expect this story to be? Great episode, and more excited than usual for what’s to come.

Emmy voters received the first episode after the time jump in their DVD package from the CBS family.
