We get it. You love Jessica Lange. But have you seen HBO’s Olive Kitteridge?November 12, 2014 at 11:46 pm #338716
Actually, no. She has two Emmys already for this role alone. Give a chance to Sarah Paulson. Or Frances McDormand.November 13, 2014 at 12:03 am #338717
I feel so Frances right now, but weren’t you the one that damned me straight to hell for predicting Lange would win SAG in 2012 and the Emmy this year.
No. I definitely did not damn you straight to hell. We’re only talking about actors and awards. Geesh. Let’s not get crazy. I already told you this, but I was rooting for Jessica Lange to win the SAG in 2012. I loved Constance Langdon. She’s still my favorite American Horror Story character. I enjoyed her Globe-SAG-Emmy sweep that year.
Yes, I thought Cicely Tyson was going to win this year. Oh well. I was right about Laura Linney winning the year before when you were demanding Elisabeth Moss win for Mad Men just so Jessica Lange could win again. How did that work out for you? Remember using past predictions works both ways.November 13, 2014 at 1:12 am #338718
In the end it worked out beautifully, because she won for the lead performance I *really* wanted her to win for and during a more competetive season, too.
Laura Linney, The Big C: Hereafter
Jessica Lange, American Horror Story: Asylum
Helen Mirren, Phil Spector
Elisabeth Moss, Top of the Lake
Sigourney Weaver, Political Animals
Helena Bonham Carter, Burton & Taylor
Minnie Driver, Return to Zero
Jessica Lange, American Horror Story: Coven
Sarah Paulson, American Horror Story: Coven
Cicely Tyson, The Trip to Bountiful
Kristen Wiig, The Spoils of Babylon
How was 2014 more competitive than 2013?November 13, 2014 at 1:22 am #338719
That’s interesting that you brought up Judy Garland during “September Song.” I thought Lange totally captured that Garland quality, and it reminded me of how beautiful “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” is. Well done!!!November 13, 2014 at 2:34 am #338720
Over Frances McDormand? Yeah, keep dreaming fella.November 13, 2014 at 2:41 am #338721

The love you harbor for Jessica Lange is the kind I hope to experience with another human someday.November 13, 2014 at 8:42 am #338723
This thread literally made me laugh out loud. The person who started this has some other-worldly love for Jessica Lange. Jesus.November 13, 2014 at 8:59 am #338724
At this point I’m rooting for Frances McDormand, but I totally understand the fandom of OP. You guys all talk like it’s only according to one crazy fan that Jessica’s actually great. She is doing an amazing job this season (as well) and is worthy of all the accolades that she might receive. Stop being so catty and let others do all their fanboying they need. Jessica is 100% worthy of having such a devoted following. 🙂November 13, 2014 at 10:54 am #338725
