Thank you. Which means every ATAS voter should be banned, by CanadianFan’s standards. Not only Cryer. Since non of the voters can prove they actually watched the submitted episodes.

Yeah, it’s great for Mad Men finally winning acting Emmys, but I don’t like it becoming a popularity contest. I mean, what if Modern Family wins again because no one watched the tapes and just name-checked it?

No one had to watch the series tapes from the beginning. It was on the arbitrary system since this new rule was invented (Only series categories). But I doubt Modern Family wins again, with any system. The industry is becoming sick of that show. It only has 2 major nominations this year.

The quite opposite, old system was doing Modern Family a big favor. Because voters had to watch and vote for the show they have most laughed of.
Orange would’ve won over MF, if this system would’ve been invented last year.

This new voting system is gonna be a huge failure. You know what, for the first time ever I want to win in Prediction Center. Tell me guys who do you think is the most popular choice in each category. Fuck the tapes, those sheep clearly don’t give a shit about them so why should we? Definitely Hamm is winning and so is Hendricks but should I go for Viola or Taraji? In comedy I will go with Amy Schumer cause she’s the newest flavor of the month. But tell me what should I do in other categories? For real, my predictions this time are gonna be 100% accurate.

I’m going with Taraji for the same reason I’m going with Amy Schumer: too much buzz going on. Her show was a massive hit and much more watched by the voters than HTGAWM and in my opinion I don’t think there’s a collective rush to give Viola an Emmy.

You’re right, that is definitely YOUR opinion, and FORTUNATELY, you’re not an emmy voter.

How you could possibly be comfortable making the assumption voters aren’t in a collective rush to award Viola with am emmy, but they are in a rush to award Taraji?! Goodnight lol

^ Oh yes, I’m quite aware of that. But, that doesn’t mean even if alot of voters go the name checking route, it will work anymore to Taraji ‘ s advantage than it would for Viola. That was my point…..

Who is this flop?

I don’t care for your passive aggressiveness nor I care for your Viola Davis stan card. I was just expressing my opinion and I won’t tolerate your bitchy ass attitude just because we’re not on the same line here. These voters have JOBS. Do you really think they are going to watch all of the nominees’ tapes just to have a more accurate assessment on who truly deserves the Emmy? Please. That won’t happen this year and in fact it never did. Most of these people know each other or have worked with each other or are even FRIENDS with each other. I’m not saying Viola Davis doesn’t have her fair share of supporters (OF COURSE she does, she got nominated) but BUZZ is on Taraji’s side. She hosted SNL, she was on dozens of magazine covers, she owned the THR’s roundtable, she’s been praised on the social media by dozens of celebrities for her performance in Cookie much more than Viola did for playing Amanda. She’s been everywhere and she went from under the radar lowkey character actress to overnight sensation playing an already iconic character. You can’t say the same about Viola because she’s already an established household name. The momentum is on Taraji’s side, she’s (much like Amy Schumer) the industry’s it girl.

Now I’m not saying she WILL win and I’m not saying she is a BETTER actress than Viola. I’m just saying Viola isn’t exactly getting the buzz or the visible wave of support Schumer, Henson, HAMM and even Aduba or Janney have been getting so I’m assuming people aren’t exactly rushing to their computers to award Viola Davis stat. I suggest you take a few sips of some moroccan mint chilled tea and calm down.

“I just meant to say that it spurred him to complete the action.”
The fact that i am even debating this is weird. YOU said a fan tweeted him to vote, and he voted. You apologised, by saying you didn’t mean that, you actually meant the tweet spurred him to vote.
That is the exact same thing!
You started the thread on a lie, and you are continuing with the said lie.
If you want to start a discussion regarding how voters choose to vote (which you have already done by the way) , do it. Not in this way.
Cryer voted based on his own resolutions. Not based on a tweet. That “spurred” him to. You want to (again) start a debate on the new voting system, which you feel so passionately about. The evidence you brought on was WRONG.

This marks the third time you have gotten it wrong. I am stunned.

Here is what I said:

I didn’t mean to imply that someone on Twitter controlled Cryer’s vote.

I just meant to say that it spurred him to complete the action. I think he is voting with conviction, but it is blind conviction, and that is the problem. ”

Does that make it any clearer for you, or are you somehow going to mess it up again? The tweet acted as a reminder for him to cast his vote — a vote he 100% believes in, no doubt.

It’s not that difficult. Read my post a few times to make sure you understand it.

I think a passionate supporter like Jon Cryer wouldn’t have changed his mind even if he saw all the submitted material from other actors. ”It seems” that he has enjoyed Hamm’s work over 8 seasons and has always been frustrated by the fact he has never won for this role. I mean, would any of us vote for someone who have the best tape while we know some other actor in this category gave more consistently good performance on other show we have watched?
Even if you have the fairest, the best judging panels in the world, you wouldn’t arrive at %100 accurate conclusions, because these are people who votes for people. Sensuality meant to play a big part.

That Christina Hendricks thing is really annoying, though. Makes me wonder, does he really a fan of Mad Men or just a pal of Jon Hamm? Namesake?

Still, Emmys change career trajectories, and they used to have credibility.

He would have had to rate contenders from 2-6 after Hamm (and Hendricks). He is doing the other contenders a disservice in the category by not watching their episodes and ranking them without considerable thought.
