This made me excited. Do you think Phoebe Waller-Bridge can finally be an Emmy nominee?February 22, 2018 at 11:14 am #1202498899
Sadly not for a BBC America original.February 22, 2018 at 11:40 am #1202498914
I’m excited about anything with her involved.February 22, 2018 at 11:50 am #1202498921
No, BBC America original Orphan Black even won an Emmy.February 22, 2018 at 12:33 pm #1202498956
So excited for this – I will be forever pressed that Oh is Emmy-less. Doubt this changes things but you never know. Also was a big fan of Comer from My Mad Fat Diary and Fleabag is one of the best comedies in recent years in my opinion so, for me, the pedigree is through the roof.February 23, 2018 at 9:10 am #1202499500
If Phoebe Waller-Bridge is involved, I’m in.February 23, 2018 at 9:40 am #1202499521
Dr. Christina Yang is forever one of my fav tv characters because Oh was so awesome so I’m glad to see Sandra back on TV. She is amazing.April 1, 2018 at 12:30 pm #1202522519
I’ve seen two reviews, both positive. Does it help that limited Series is a waste land?April 5, 2018 at 6:55 am #1202524493
Would it compete in Limited Series? It just got picked up for a second season (before it even aired). I wonder if BBCA will submit it as a comedy. The reviews have been nearly ecstatic.April 5, 2018 at 9:51 am #1202524588
Renewing the show ruined its minimal shot at the Emmys, since that probably means it’s not limited? Or they’ll stick with one or two characters, like many other shows taking advantage of the loopholes.April 5, 2018 at 10:00 am #1202524594
I have a feeling this will eventually become a critical favorite and Sandra Oh will eventually get nominated down the line as this gains a following, similar to Maslanay.April 5, 2018 at 11:32 am #1202524670
I just assumed that this would be a drama the way that Fleabag is a comedy instead of a limited series, despite there being a three-year gap between the first and second seasons. But with the early renewal, it sounds like this is more of a traditional drama like Orphan Black.April 6, 2018 at 6:50 am #1202525094
I could easily see Sandra Oh getting a nomination. Especially once it premieres and buzz really starts. People like Oh and I’m sure they’re ready to reward her again. Maybe not this year it’s all Foy’s, but I could her winning down the line.
Bridge seems like a viable writing nomination. You know like one of those random “we like you, keep going” nominations?
