    Season 2 premieres tonight.

84 on metacritic with 9 reviews, up two points from last year.

In a just world Aubrey Plaza would have easily been nominated last year. Hopefully she still has great material.

This show is genius. Hope season 2 is as good as the first, and I’ve heard it is even better.

Have you guys ever had 5 glasses of wine before in the same meal? I haven’t and don’t know what it had to do with This show but I feel great right now because of the yummy alcohol, but don’t worry I am responsible as well. You’re cool.

    Possible Emmy Visual Effects nominee?

In a just world it would win editing and get in for cinematography and production design. I’m not too sure about visual effects… based on the first episode alone.

No amazing acting standouts yet either. Even though I’m glad that Hamlisch Linklater seems to have a larger role. Such an underrated actor.

Really enjoyed the premiere. Am I correct in remembering that this got zero technical nominations last year? That is a travesty. Sound, cinematography, editing, visual effects should all be locks if voters actually watched the show. I would even nod it for that trippy dance sequence in cinematography given the chance.

That said, the premiere was more impenetrable than even last year so I have a hard time seeing it gathering much momentum.

Personally, I really enjoyed it so I guess I will just have to settle for that. I think I enjoyed Jean Smart in her brief scene last night more than anything she had to do last year. Keller has also nicely settled into here role and great to see more of Hamish. Stevens continues to be a solid anchor. I will continue to watch and enjoy even if Emmy voters aren’t.

I couldn’t figure out who the narrator was. It sounded like Armie Hammer. It turns out it was Jon Hamm. How funny would it be if he was the shows one Emmy nomination, for narration?

Lol the voice was instantly recognizable to me as Hamm. I wonder if he is a fan.

I don’t need a new season of Twin Peaks as long as this show stays on the air. It’s the most entertaining show to watch week to week.

Just watched tonight’s episode. Damn you cliffhangers!!! lol

I’m still blown away by the fact that this series scored ZERO nominations in its first season. Even without recognition in a major category, the show SHOULD at least have a dozen technical nominations! I really hope FX pushes the second season for more Emmy recognition, especially in the following categories:

    1. OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION DESIGN FOR A NARRATIVE CONTEMPORARY OR FANTASY PROGRAM (2 of last year’s nominees are ineligible this year)

    2. OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY (a stretch… but The Real O’Neal’s was nominated last year)

    3. OUTSTANDING CINEMATOGRAPHY FOR A SINGLE-CAMERA SERIES (2 nominees ineligible out of 7 from last year)

    4. OUTSTANDING PERIOD/FANTASY COSTUMES FOR A SERIES, LIMITED SERIES, OR MOVIE (1 of last year’s nominees is ineligible this year)

    5. OUTSTANDING HAIRSTYLING FOR A SINGLE-CAMERA SERIES (1 nominee ineligible this year)

    6. OUTSTANDING MAKEUP FOR A SINGLE-CAMERA SERIES NON-PROSTHETIC (1 nominee ineligible)

    7. OUTSTANDING PROSTHETIC MAKEUP FOR A SERIES, LIMITED SERIES, MOVIE, OR SPECIAL (1 nominee eligible)

    8. OUTSTANDING MUSIC COMPOSITION FOR A SERIES (4 nominees from last year ineligible)

    9. OUTSTANDING NARRATOR for Jon Hamm (All 6 nominees from last year ineligible)

    10. OUTSTANDING SINGLE-CAMERA PICTURE EDITING FOR A DRAMA SERIES (2 nominees ineligible)

    11. OUTSTANDING SOUND MIXING FOR A COMEDY OR DRAMA SERIES (1 ineligible)

    12. OUTSTANDING SOUND EDITING FOR A SERIES (1 ineligible)

    13. OUTSTANDING SPECIAL VISUAL EFFECTS (4 ineligible this year)

Those highlighted BOLD are the strongest ones that I think could definitely happen this year. The ones in italic are ones that should happen, but not as likely… but could.

So here’s to hoping for at least 3-6 nominations this year!

I think its classification is borderline but I would like to see it go for the contemporary categories tbh. I feel like it could stand a better chance there and I do not think it would be really bending the rules too much as, although the series has fantastical elements, it still takes place in a contemporary period. I am not quite sure what the rules dictate for series that have elements of both.

So this show is very back and forth for me … I love moments and hate others .. I think its Rachel that is the part i dont like, i find her irritating and boring . I think the rest of the cast especially the fucking brilliant Aubry Plaza really make the show shine . but im behind one episode and the last one i watched was all Rachel and it was a complete snooze.

FX included a DVD with the first, fourth and fifth episodes of the season in their bundle to Emmy voters. They are submitting the fourth episode for writing and directing, as well as the sixth and the finale additionally for directing.
