Toni Collette and Jean Smart are in the best possible positions atm. They’re both practically locks to be nominated, and with so much vote-splitting probably factoring into the final voting, one of them could win!

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

Am I the only one who thinks Smart is in trouble?

Tracey Ullman is getting raves for Mrs. America. I’m going to add her on my predictions for now.

Acting noms/wins, the reviews for this are mostly pretty passionate, I think it’s safely second in limited race and a real threat to win the whole thing.

I think it’s a very real possibility that King could be the only acting nominee for Watchmen.

I don’t know, I think Tim Blake Nelson is very secure right now. People loved his performance, and his category is wide open right now.

Harriet Harris too. Loved her small role in Phantom Thread and of course her work in the first couple of seasons of Desperate Housewives. I wonder if there are other cameos we dont yet know of

Can someone confirm how much of a role Harriet Harris plays in “Hollywood”? Between AHS, “Ratched,” and now this, she’s definitely a keeper in the Ryan Murphy-universe. Would love for her to be recognized in some capacity, as she should have guest actress Emmys for “Fraiser” and “Desperate Housewives.”

I’m honestly not sure that Watchmen is quite the frontrunner everyone thinks it is. The Emmys like fantasy and genre stuff in drama (and in comedy to an extent), but they’ve never really fully gone for that kind of “weird” thing in limited. Twin Peaks, Maniac, and The Haunting of Hill House all had other things going wrong for them, but they got more praise and public love than a lot of the other nominees in their respective years. For how much the Emmys used to love American Horror Story, they still never gave it a prize for series, writing, or directing. Black Mirror seems to be the only “weird” thing they’ve really gunned for (but then again, most of its prizes are in TV Movie, which has become something of a joke in the past few years).

I’m not saying Watchmen is going to be completely snubbed, because I think it’ll do well in nominations. It feels safe for series, writing, directing, and King. However, I don’t see it being the frontrunner to win series. It just feels too weird and genre for the TV Academy, who usually goes for more true story or real-life stuff in this category.

Now that we’ve seen the reviews, I feel pretty confident in saying that Mrs America is going to take this one.

Is Mrs. America the frontrunner right now? It’s getting great reviews and has the prestige factor the Emmys love.

    Entertainment Weekly:

As the self-effacing homemaker Alice, one of the few fictional characters in Mrs. America, Paulson delivers humor, pathos, and gut-wrenching emotion. If she doesn’t get an Emmy nomination for the scene where Alice tearfully recites a family recipe for pecan cornbread, the whole damn system is rigged.

I would wait for the audience reception first, that’s key. We still dont even have the MC/RT scores yet.

To me, it’s becoming impossible to envision a scenario where limited supporting actress doesn’t receive more than 6 nomination slots. People are going to be checking off several Mrs America/Hollywood actresses, and then Smart and Collette (maybe even Leo) will have passionate support behind them.

It’s more competitive than the comedy supporting actress race last year which received 8 nomination slots.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)
