It’s possible due to the way that the voting mechanics work, but highly improbable because not all voters will have the same thought processes. It’s much more likely that consensus will start to build around 2-4 actresses from the show.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

Is it crazy to think that Mrs. America might take ALL slots in supporting actress? I know that is a long shot because it would be too absurd, but since they can vote how many they want on the nominations, it’s just something that I thought about.

It is possible and them getting 5 slots is more realistic than someone like Allison Janney getting in imo.

I understand why someone would think Watchmen could underperform with actors, but everything else is so weak at this point that it surely will get more than just King in.

It’s a shame Unorthodox isn’t in the conversation, and even bigger shame something like Hollywood is much likelier to get in.

I’ve slotted El Camino into third place instead of first and have put Black Mirror first followed by Bad Education. It feels as if El Camino came and went. Paul couldn’t get into SAG or any major precursors (although I am still predicting him). It lost at PGA to a National Geographic documentary. It lost at WGA to Fosse/Verdon and had Fosse/Verdon been ineligible it probably would have lost to Unbelievable (or even The Loudest Voice which despite its bad critical reception I think we are all underestimating). On the other hand, Black Mirror : Smithereens hasn’t been tested yet (Netflix pushed Striking Vipers at the guilds) and I think it could win TV Movie again due to two reasons, the first being that its Black Mirror and the second being the Fleabag factor. People are arguing that Andrew Scott will make it into the Limited/Movie Actor race because of Fleabag goodwill, I think if you’re predicting that to happen you should at least predict Smithereens to win TV Movie.

I have also put Bad Education ahead of El Camino because whilst I haven’t seen it, there does seem to be a lot of buzz around it and I wouldn’t be surprised if it won instead.

With regards to Hollywood, it took me a whole day to get through the first episode. I really was looking forward to this and hoping to enjoy it but I think this has the worst first episode of a Ryan Murphy programme ever. David Corenswet was irritating, Patti LuPone was ok but had barely anything to do in the first ep and the best thing in it so far is Dylan McDermott (and he seems to be playing a similar character to one of his AHS characters). There were short interesting moments so if Emmy voters could get through the episode I wouldn’t be surprised if this was randomly nominated for Limited Series á la The Alienist or Genius. I am intrigued by Pope’s performance though, his appearance in the end of the first episode did seem interesting.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

Given how empty supporting actor is, watch something wild / expected happen there a la John Leguizamo / Adina Porter

I think the only locks in supporting actress, as of now, are Collette and Byrne. Yes, Byrne is a lock imo. I just don’t see how she misses. She’s basically a co-lead and even when she’s not the center of the episode she still has plenty of screentime and she’s a scene-stealer. I don’t know if I’m the only one but every time she’s not on screen I miss her character a lot. Also, I find very strange that many experts and editors are updating their supporting actress line-up and Byrne is not predicted to get in. Specially when they’re predicting 3-4 Mrs. America actresses. I just don’t see how she misses on a nomination when she’s basically the face of the show alongside Blanchett.

rs disappointing Unbelievable is in a better state. Just looking at last year’s nominations will tell you why you should actually drop Allison Janney instead.

Yeah, I can’t imagine Tim Blake Nelson snub now at all.

Jesse Plemons is a perfect candidate for such a nom imo.

I think Paulson is a lock too, going off what I’ve heard from several people now, all of whom agree that she gives one of the best single-episode performance of the year.

I’ve also decided to put all four Watchmen actors back in because the field is thinning out, so it would be dumb not to include a handful of actors from the possible limited series champ.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

I agree that Byrne is definitely in. She has too much screen time to be the one who’s snubbed. Not to mention, she’s playing Gloria Steinem and she’s a precious nominee. I also just think she’s the standout among the supporting ladies.

I was this close to adding him to my predictions today. He seems such a wild choice but it is still somewhat realistic

I have to watch her episode first that’s why I said she wasn’t a lock as of now. So far she hasn’t done anything worthy of a nomination, but i’m sure once I see her episode she will (definitely) rise in my predictions.
