If it did contend in those categories, It would be hard for Poehler to make it in but not impossible. Offerman would probably stand the best chance.

God I’d so love for him to finally get a nomination for playing Ron. One of the worst snubs of all time.

On top of that, Offerman should’ve been recognised in limited supporting actor for the second season of Fargo ahead of the ridiculous American Crime Story nominees. It’s about time he gets his due.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

David Schwimmer and John Travolta nominations were a travesty. Nick Offerman and Ted Danson were robbed. As much as I love ACS S1, they didn’t do anything to deserve those nominations, except appear there and say the lines. Nathan Lane deserved more than both of them.

    FYC Emmy 2020:
Laura Linney - Lead Actress in a Drama Series/ Julia Garner - Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Catherine O'hara - Lead Actress in a Comedy Series/ Annie Murphy - Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

Parks and Recreation should be eligible in the pre-recorded variety special category, with its performers in the limited/movie races.

Hm. I was hoping it was eligible movie and make that category interesting. Or at least push out the Patsy & Loretta. I have never seen the movie, but Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn deserve better than a Lifetime movie…just saying.

It’s a shame Fargo’s second season came out when it did. It should’ve gotten so much more. Plemons and Woodbine’s (God I wish he had more high profile roles) nominations were richly deserved, but the aforementioned Danson and Offerman were also worthy, as were Zahn McLarnon and Jeffrey Donovan. And that’s not even getting into Cristin Millioti and Patrick Wilson’s (his really hurts) snubs. And I think most of us will agree that in most other years, the series and Dunst would’ve won. It‘s sad knowing such peak television went home empty handed.

It really was a shame that it got caught in the American Crime Story bandwagon. I believe that ACS overperformed in some acting nominations solely because of the show itself and their big names. I mean, the people who won were accurate, but not the rest of the nominees. Its kinda sad to think that Dunst lost to two Ryan Murphy’s actresses at the Globe and Emmy. And oh my god, yes to Zahn McLarnon! He deserved more appreciation for that role. Regarding Patrick Wilson, recently I was watching Angels in America – he’s so great in it too – and while I was looking some intel about him, I remembered the snub for Fargo. I had completely forgotten about that.
If they had aired it a couple months earlier, they probably could have knocked out Olive Kitteridge out of those wins and swept it.

Olive Kitteridge swept, even stuff like editing. The second season of Fargo was too genre.

After watching Defending Jacob’s first episode, I have a Chris Evans sized hole to fill. Who is the more realistic contender Jeremy Irons or Jeremy Pope?

I’d say Irons because he’s more respected and contending for a show that is, currently, the default frontrunner. That being said, I have both in.

I never believed Chris Evans would happen. Even if he gave a somewhat decent performance, I doubt they’d nominate him. After all, he’s Chris Evans.

Only predicting a single acting nom for Watchmen

I was JUST thinking to myself that Watchmen could just walk home with one acting nom for Regina. I could easily see all three of Irons, Nelson and Smart snubbed. But for now, I have them all in because I need to see Hollywood and I Know This Much is True first.

I also wish someone like Eric Lange were in the conversation for “Unbelievable.” His role is rather small and his performance is subdued, but he’s absolutely terrific. He should have been nominated for Escape at Dannemora last year.

This is precisely why I thought he would get in and why I still think he’ll get in at the Globes. But damn, the show was like, really, really bad.

I see Hollywood and Mrs America getting at least 5 acting noms each. Only predicting a single acting nom for Watchmen

I have Mrs. America with 6 nominations now (Blanchett, Byrne, Paulson, Aduba, Ullman, Slattery) but can easily see Martindale joining them. Hollywood with 5 (Corensweet, Parsons, Criss, Mantello, McDermott) could be 6 with Pope joining them.

I’m predicting King and Smart for Watchmen.

Pope. Irons is never getting in even if GD had him as #1.

My impression from reading reactions was people see him as a supporting player. That is why I assumed he wouldn’t get in but maybe Watchmen ends up being as strong as WTSU was.
