But but I have been told Little Fires Everywhere wasn’t popular and Hulu certainly has lied about its ratings, then why is it getting a viral tweet in July? https://twitter.com/noelreivax/status/1281267526928863232?s=19

People saying Kerry isn’t liked but she’s still included in the tweet? Somebody needs to explain sumn

Because it is more recent, aired at the right time and unlike Unbelievable (although I do admit this could potentially happen due to how many episodes they have submitted) hasn’t shown weakness with the directors branch.

This isn’t a valid argument though. If you’re entirely basing it’s placement on the fact that it aired recently, then it doesn’t seem like a strong runner up to me. Especially since it’s buzz is very, very minimal at the moment. Also, of course it didn’t show weakness with the directors branch since it hasn’t had the chance to.

Yeah this 5th spot drama is going back and forth, the snore. But watch tomorrow’s topic be why Haas is making it in before Reese/Kerry/Kaitlyn.

Girl, just go type in kerry washington on Twitter and you’ll find your fair share of tweets criticizing her acting in LFE lol. Not that Twitter matters much when it comes to the Emmy’s but they are there.

I never bought into the Haas hype to begin with.

I still have her in fifth but I’m pretty shaky on it. I have Unorthodox getting into series so I don’t feel like I can take her out. Plus, not sure who I would pick between the LFE ladies.

Let’s just get that over with quickly tonight lol.

I don’t want to take TCA too much into account but Unorthodox and Haas are obviously over if critics, who should have been the first to support them, didn’t. I’ve warned you a few days ago that Unorthodox was a worldwide hit but not an US one. Haas would be really deserving of a nom but it’s not happening.

Yeah TCA pretty much settled that Unorthodox’ buzz only existed internationally rather than domestically skjkfs. Literally don’t know a person who has heard of it.

Yes, she beat everyone in her category and everyone not nominated from every other drama category – that’s why it’s so impressive…

Not saying there isn’t a viable Reese/Kerry argument but that ain’t it.

In a group of 7, like I said. Again, Reese and Kerry were never making TCA as they don’t even need to. She beat Colman and Linney in the category, but I reiterate, she is not competing in the Drama category where there are SIX slots. She is fighting for the last slot. No, she is not above both LFE ladies and no Shira Haas isn’t neither. Up until TCA, the underlying defense I keep noticing from many of you is “I want her to be nominated badly and I will predict her regardless of her being up against two people with better chances than her”.

I don’t know why, but I fully expect the Limited Series Actress category to still have 6 nominees. I understand that according to the new rules this shouldn’t be possible, however, I think the Emmys will still somehow make that happen lol.

They are known for changing their minds. Watch them clarify that they meant “with a minimum of 6 nominees in all acting categories.”

I think it’s not impossible, but I may be wrong.

I mean if all six actress receive the same amount of votes they all will be nominated, right?

Or in a more realistic possibility: King and Blanchett receive an amount of votes bigger than everyone else then Wever, Dever, Whiterspoon and Washington tie with the same amount of votes.

The recency argument does benefit it when we know there is recency bias in this category.

It’s not also the fact it recently aired. There’s the star power associated with it and the topicality of it as well.

Might I add it is also very clearly feels like Mrs. America has stronger acting support than Unbelievable even before nominations.

FYC Emmys : THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, SUCCESSION AND THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES. Tony Shalhoub ("Maisel"), Cate Blanchett ("Mrs. America"), Matthew Macfadyen, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Tracey Ullman ("Mrs. America") and Louis Gossett Jr. ("Watchmen")

I think streaming on Amazon outside US helped Little Fire Everywhere because I saw a lot of people talking about the show last weeks. But The Act had a similar popularity.

This. Little Fires will do better because it’s a more topical show, but I think its strength is being vastly overestimated. The TV academy doesn’t go for this genre in a big way.

LFE popularity is way superior than The Act’s and it had viral tweets before it came out on amazon.
