I was watching the TCA slugfest video and I think whilst Unbelievable and Watchmen’s performances should be noted I don’t think the fact Mrs. America failed to get more than 3 nominations shows it has weakness (apart from maybe perhaps for the Series win).

The fact that it managed to get into Program of the Year beating out Dramas like The CrownOzarkPose and The Good Fight shows that it is still firmly in the top 2/3 and perhaps the top 3 for nominations. This can be seen further as being quite impressive considering that never have 3 Limited Series ever gotten into Program of the Year (especially when there is no bias towards Limited Series at TCA considering we had a shut out of shows including Emmy winning The Assassination of Gianni Versace in this category which went on to be nominated for 6 Emmys and win 1 of those).

I am confused as to why people think the fact that no non Blanchett Mrs. America actress got nominated shows it has weakness. Whilst Unbelievable’s ability to get both Wever and Dever nominated it should be noted that it is very unusual for shows that even end up winning Limited Series to get more than one performer nominated (see Big Little Lies in 2017). Considering everyone is secondary (and in some ways cameo-esque) in comparison to Blanchett in Mrs. America it’s not a surprise no other actress got nominated.

FYC Emmys : THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, SUCCESSION AND THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES. Tony Shalhoub ("Maisel"), Cate Blanchett ("Mrs. America"), Matthew Macfadyen, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Tracey Ullman ("Mrs. America") and Louis Gossett Jr. ("Watchmen")

Yeah, Mrs. America did perfectly fine and got all the nominations it was going to get. I completely agree.

Finally timed J.K. Simmons and I only got about 14.5 minutes, which is about 3.5% of 402 minutes, so I am emailing Ralph.  Say that I round up everything to get to 16 minutes and take out all of the credits, which would be around 24 minutes: 16/378 = 4.2%.

Let me know if I missed any scene:
    5. 7:25–11:50
    6. 14:45–15:30
    6. 23:50–25:50
    7. 20:25–22:05
    8. 8:30–8:45
    8. 16:00–21:20

I mean if we’re to take anything from the show’s TCA nominations it could be that we’re underestimating it considering the show got Program of the Year unlike Fosse/Verdon which arguably was 2nd in Series (I know this is debatable) and had a similar level of buzz.

    Nonetheless Watchmen is still winning.

Again with Lynn Shelton. At this point she’s getting 30 nominations this year and her death will also get GLOW, LFE etc series nods, Alison Brie and Marc Maron acting nods as well etc etc Rofl No disrespect though, may she rest in peace.

Saying “no disrespect though” doesn’t take away from how gross this post is.

As I said, I didn’t care for him on Westworld, but I can cut him slack because his character was horribly written underdeveloped. There really wasn’t much that he could do with the role. It felt like we learned barely anything about him by the end, even though there was an episode dedicated to showing his backstory.

As for the passion of his movie, it’s interesting to me, that El Camino, Bad Education, and Kimmy Schmidt all have one thing in common. When they came out, they all seemed to get a decent amount of passion, but before too long, the talk surrounding them has pretty much dissipated.

Yes, you explained it perfectly, I agree completely and I decided to predict a complete snub for all performances coming from TV movies.

Most will disagree with me, but excluding Frances McDormand in the movie, David Thewlis is my favorite Fargo performance. I thought his work was inspired.

I agree and I would add Kirsten Dunst for the top 3.

Facts can be painful, gross, bitter. I get it.

Making a joke out of someone’s death isn’t a fact. It’s just gross behavior.

I didn’t make a joke out of her death? People have been using her death as an argument for numerous nominations to happen. That’s the joke. It’s simply silly.

People have used it as an argument for one nomination not numerous lmao and you made fun of that and used her death as a part of the joke. Literally what’s not clicking?

People have used her death as argument for GLOW to get Series, Directing and Acting nods.

I’m sorry who on earth said Lynn Shelton’s death will get GLOW series, directing and acting nods. What a simple-minded thing to say.

Also if you’re so worried about people saying GLOW will get into Series (which I imagine hardly anyone is) despite the fact Netflix isn’t campaigning for it at all then why on earth are you predicting it for your 8th slot in Comedy Series?

So people are predicting ‘Hollywood’ because of its popularity, but how exactly popular is it? A little bit surprised it wasn’t mentioned in this article:

Damn, I just wanna see it being completely shut out!!!

Apple confirmed with the academy that Simmons would be eligible.
