I think it’s safe to say Watchmen will win Limited Series now with all this ballot confusion and Writing as well (I still think Mrs. America has an outsider chance in Limited Series but Watchmen is locked for Writing). The big question mark however is around Directing, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor which could go anyway between Mrs. America, Watchmen and perhaps a surprise winner.

I still think Cate Blanchett is comfortably winning though. I have no idea who is winning Actor.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

A question for whom? Not for voters, who will almost certainly choose Watchmen.

I’m gonna put in Jovan Adepo ’cause if the voters go crazy for the acting categories like they did for When They See Us, he can get in. He’s at the top, right below Yahya and they can both easily be checked off.

I’m kinda worried about vote splitting though. But then again, Mrs America also submitted 4 episodes so maybe This Extraordinary Being the DGA winning pilot will come through

I see the bias is coming through (which is totally understandable because I want Watchmen to win too!)

With Mrs. America and Watchmen both submitting gazillions of episodes they’re both going to split the vote. The question is if Watchmen has more episodes than Mrs. America nominated (which in that case Mrs is winning). But if both have an equal amount of Directing nods and we get a nominee from another show I could see that nominee winning.

I was (kind of) being sarcastic but agreed it is a little bit more muddled here because of submission strategy.

Realistically, I think most Mrs. America voters will coalesce behind the finale so I don’t think vote splitting will be too terrible for them.

I’m currently predicting the directing category to be fully occupied by Watchmen and Mrs. America, therefore have the former show winning with the episode “This Extraordinary Being”.

I’m very new to this so can somebody just tell me: do movies never get nominated/win for directing or writing? Or are Bad Education and El Camino being ignored by everyone here for some other reason I can’t see?

I can’t really imagine lead actress being anything other than Blanchett, King, Wever, Witherspoon and Washington.

Sucks for Shira Haas & Kaitlyn Dever. Still hoping the Emmys magically pull out a tie despite the rule change and we get a 6th nominee.

They have struggled in recent years, with the TV movie being a dying art form, as evidenced by how neither Bad Education nor El Camino are proper ones in the vein of something like Game Change.

With the lead acting races down to five nominees, I dropped Kaitlyn Dever and Chris Evans. Dever should be making it in over Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, but I can’t see only one of them making it, and someone made that argument about the two of them and Merritt Wever being on the same ballot page and unfortunately my stupid brain can’t stop thinking about that. I still have Paul Mescal in my predictions, and I think it’ll ultimately come down to the passion pick (Mescal) versus the popular actor riding a wave of goodwill (Evans). How shocked would we all be if Evans is the big name actor who gets the nod over Mark Ruffalo? I might have to dwell on that.
