I find myself hesitating between the supporting actresses from Mrs America and Little Fires…

I think Toni Colette is a lock and, I know it’s not a prevailing opinion, but I’m not really confident about Jean Smart.

Anyway, this leaves 4 to 5 spots to take. In my predictions, I put Rose Byrne and Margo Martingale for Mrs America and I then wondered whether Mrs America could really get 4 or 5 spots by itself.

Paulson, Aduba, Ullman gave Emmy-worthy performances but in some episodes, then they were almost invisible in others.

However, I was really impressed by Lexi Underwood and Megan Stott in LFE. According to the odds, nobody seems to be predicting them but I wonder if they could get in given how Lupone/Taylor were less good and I don’t really believe in Janney for this category.

For now, my list is Collette, Byrne, Martingale locked. Next, I hesitate between Paulson/Ullman/Aduba or Underwood/Stott from LFE and I also think we underestimate how good Cherry Jones was in Defending Jacob.

    Any thoughts?

I don’t think any supporting actress from Little Fires is getting in. The kids were great, but they aren’t giving Joey King/Maisie Williams-type of performances.

I also think we underestimate how good Cherry Jones was in Defending Jacob.

I agree with this. I think this year is way too crowded for her to get in, but she easily stole the show for me. But voters have a chance to vote for her in another category as well.

Maybe she can get in anyway, I’m not saying they don’t deserve it but I don’t see how Mrs America could be getting 4 or 5 spots out of 6.

The teens from LFE were great but there is no clear standout between them for one to happen, and even if there were, it would be a real long shot for that performer to get in. If LFE were a drama series AnnaSophia Robb as young Elena would be a nice nominee.

The irony that Cherry Jones will get snubbed for Defending Jacob and lose the Emmy for Succession despite winning an Emmy last year for her weakest work on The Handmaid’s Tale.

I dont understand how someone can hesitate between the supporting women from Mrs. America or the teens from Little Fires Everywhere. I mean it’s pretty obvious Mrs America is going to dominate this category and Fires wont even get nominated. I dont understand how this is difficult you have a stacked cast with a list people, many of whom are emmy favourites that everyone is talking about with standout episodes for everyone of them, and then some younger actresses from Fires that no one really knows about or are even talking about. It should be an easy call!

No offense, but when the actresses’ names are: Paulson, Byrne, Aduba, Martindale, and Ullman, it’s kinda easy to see over Jones or the LFE girls.

You’re forgetting Elizabeth Banks who (despite not being as deserving as Paulson, Byrne, Aduba, Martindale or Ullman) is probably ahead of Jones and the LFE girls too.

Imagine predicting Winona Ryder over most of Mrs. America, the LFE girls and Jones LMAO.

I know Mrs America’s episode submission strategy was a total mess, but I’m glad my Personal favourite episode “Phyllis & Fred & Brenda & Marc” will get extra eyeballs on Ari Graynor. I know she doesn’t stand a chance at nomination, but glad she’s given a chance. I’d definitely vote for that episode to get nominated with Houston in Writing.

The Smart snub is my NGNG prediction. Banks is at the end because there’s no way she makes it in (I could see scenarios where one of the other 3 make it, but not her). I think Jones is fantastic but I’m not gonna underestimate a Ryan Murphy show on Netflix THAT much (I’m only predicting Parsons).

I’m tempted to slot Defending Jacob in and Evans in instead of Ruffalo. The show is becoming huge and if it happens anywhere it is in those two categories.

Unfortunately I am having a hard time because I don’t see Unbelievable, Mrs. America, Watchmen, Little Fires Everywhere or Unorthodox missing.

We all have different friend and social circles, live in different countries and cities, this is why social media is the best way to compare.

Unorthodox has so many votes on IMDB, much more than the rest – 41 000. Hollywood (23 000) and Normal People (20 000) and Defending Jacob (18 500) are similar in popularity. Little Fires Everywhere is below all of them – 14 500. I do think that Hulu lied about its popularity. And The Act was never a popular show – 17 000 votes now, last year had around 10 000.

The comparison between Succession and Riverdale is ridiculous, because the TV Academy has a clear taste what it likes. But here we are talking about industry friendly shows that are also audience friendly, here popularity should matter in a voting without clear favorites outside of top 3. It is very equal, something has to help nominees number 4 and 5.

Also, two of the three favorites, are also by the far the most popular ones, Watchmen (72 000) and Unbelievable (60 000). Only Unorthodox is close to them.

Mrs. America is (4 000), by far, the least popular show, but is an industry friendly show, it will be vastly seen by the industry people, just like Fosse/Verdon and HBO comedies like Girls.

I do not see other so less seen shows to make it, last year only Fosse/Verdon made it between the little seen shows. So The Loudest Voice (9 000), I Know This Much Is True (5 000), The Plot Against America (5 000) and Quiz (3 000) and The Eddy (1 700, what a shame for Netflix and for Chazelle this is) are out.

Bad Education has 20 000 and El Camino has the quite impressive 168 000, but I keep thinking that they might follow the destiny of all other TV movies and be snubbed completely from acting. Interestingly, Togo from Disney+ has 9 000 more votes than Bad Education – 29 000 and and one entire unit highest score – 8, BE has a 7.

Any idea on what went wrong with promoting this show? Can’t believe it’s this low.
