That season finale was incredible. This is easily the best thing the MCU has ever done. It did a better job building up a villain than any MCU movie did in a single episode, it had an incredible twist at the end, and the MCU is finally exploring just how weird and cosmic the comics can get. Loki better be remembered at the Emmys next year, because I’d be surprised if it did not deserve it (at the very least, Hiddleston and Majors should be nominated).
It was a good show, but it shouldn’t be any close to awards consideration, apart from Richard E. Grant and the score. Too much exposition and all the Sylvie stuff felt off because her character is incredibly lame and bad written.
And I believe Obi Wan will be the Disney + show to be in contention.July 14, 2021 at 3:28 pm #1204346663
This show will get Emmy love. Especially with Hiddleston returning in Doctor Strange.

I agree that the season finale had more exposition than it should have, but in the end, I really enjoyed Loki’s season finale and the series in general. Majors, Hiddleston and Di Martino devoured their scenes.
Trying to make realistic predictions for the series at the awards and at the Emmys: Production Design, Visual Effects, Music, Main Title Design, Guest Actor (Richard E. Grant and Jonathan Majors). Actor? Perhaps, it will depend on whether Tom Hiddleston is nominated for the SAG and winter awards. Can Loki replace The Mandalorian as the fantasy series in Drama Series? Perhaps, once again it will depend on how the series will do in the winter awards. So far, most of the industry artists (actors, writers, filmmakers) and critics I’ve seen on Twitter have praised the series. But competition of the fantasy series at the Emmys is also tough, with Stranger Things returning and House of the Dragon, The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time and The Book of Boba Fett (did I forget something else?).July 14, 2021 at 7:37 pm #1204346926
Aside from Sylvie who I couldn’t care less in 4 episodes
All things Succession, Severance, Ted Lasso, The Great and The White Lotus! Also, Colin Firth and Janelle James while you're at it.July 14, 2021 at 8:22 pm #1204347057
This is perhaps my favourite MCU show.
The only thing that makes me query awards is people saying it’s Doctor Who with $$$ (which I don’t disagree with) and, well…….July 14, 2021 at 10:06 pm #1204347183
I wonder if Tara Strong can get into voice-over performance at next year’s Emmys.July 14, 2021 at 10:16 pm #1204347187
Hold up, the iconic Tara Strong was in Loki? *quick IMDb check*
She was Miss Minutes? Okay, a Voice-Over nomination for her needs to happen. She was so delicious in this part and is shockingly never been nominated.July 14, 2021 at 10:48 pm #1204347214

Hopefully. Way too many iconic voice actors have never been nominated, partially because the category used to just have winners, but there have still been so many snubs.July 14, 2021 at 11:43 pm #1204347234
Has Tara Strong never been nominated for an Emmy? I am shocked.July 14, 2021 at 11:45 pm #1204347236
Actually, speaking of the voice acting category, how is it that only two people have won for voice performances not on Family Guy or The Simpsons since the category stopped being juried in 2009? Even when other shows have won animated series it hasn’t mattered.July 17, 2021 at 7:20 am #1204350267
Tom Hiddleston is the Performer of the Week: https://tvline.com/2021/07/17/tom-hiddleston-loki-season-1-finale-episode-6-performance/July 21, 2021 at 10:56 pm #1204357362
It’s probably too early in the race for this particular season to get anything. If it were though, I could see a lot of potential nods. Hoping Season 2 brings back Sophia di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbathu-Raw so that they in particular can be nominated (not because of their performances despite them all being good, I’m just fans of their overall work). Not now
