has nobody else watched this? I’m surprised given the popularity of the book. I didn’t really read reviews before starting but 4 episodes in and I’m very impressed. It’s cheesy like every teen show, but it has great moments of humor and sweetness, and Kristine Froseth’s performance is nothing short of spectacular. So far it’s easily my favorite of the recent R-rated teen dramas (Euphoria and 13RW, even when considering just the first season). It also presents teen issues in the most natural way of the three. I’m interested to see how it handles the big shocker of the book, even knowing what I know having read it I’m not prepared.

Finished. It’s a teen show and i’m not going to pretend to jump through the hoops that its getting any awards consideration like users tend to do with 13RW and Euphoria, but that being said, I really loved it. Really captured the spirit of the book while expanding on the plot and characters. Most of the cast is great, standouts for me being Froseth, who gives a better performance than Langford ever did, and Sofia Vassileva, who played Lara. Weirdly enough, the latter was the sick girl from the movie My Sister’s Keeper and is 27 but I would’ve never guessed that. In terms of names this forum will recognize, Timothy Simmons and Ron Cephas Jones are great in their supporting roles. The writing for sure has its cringe dialogue moments but the plot is really well paced and it can be witty. The final two episodes broke me.

Yeah really crazy how this was Green’s second most popular book and this made absolutely zero noise. The two leads have been working a lot since though

I read the books years ago.
I didn’t love the series but it was ok. Some strong performances.
