Can someone answer why the 2nd season of Lost wasn’t able to earn a nod for Drama Series at the Emmys even though won the year before and got writing and directing noms?

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

That was the experimental year when nominations were decided purely by panel votes. Lost was already so serialized by then that it played poorly as such. Writing and directing were popular votes and it still got PGA, won TCA and so on. Its snub and others incited such a backlash that they changed the voting system the next year.

It wasn’t just “Lost.” It was Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, House, etc. Felicity Huffman, James Spader and Patrica Arquette–all winners in 2005 were not even nominated in 2006. All were nominated again in 2007.

Heck, even Stockard Channing (whom I love) was nominated in 2006 for a series that was canceled.

Still not over this egregious snub.

While we are it, justice for Josh Holloway!

Edie Falco and James Gandolfini also missed for The Sopranos after winning 3 times.

That was a terrible year for the Emmys with that failed system.

Marcia Cross should have been nominated and won for Desperate Housewives
