With the current trend of TV revivals like Will & Grace, Roseanne, and Murphy Brown coming back next season, it has now been revealed that Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt have just closed deals with Sony Pictures Television with co-creator Danny Jacobson to revive Mad About You.

ReplyCopy URLApril 13, 2018 at 7:57 am #1202529068I highly doubt this generates the same interest/ratings as Roseanne and Will & Grace. At least, in the Trump era, there’s some rationale behind a Murphy Brown reboot – what’s the reason for this?

Don Draper voice in my head. Oh god.
ReplyCopy URLApril 13, 2018 at 8:34 am #1202529131I won’t get my hopes up about this coming to fruition until a network actually orders it, though I suppose the industry says a pick-up will be imminent.
That said, I’d love to see Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser together on screen again and I’ve always enjoyed Mad About You. I’m not sure how it’ll do with audiences, but I’ll be watching!

July 11, 2018 at 1:48 pm #1202583270Not terribly surprising – the nostalgia for Mad About You is negligible at best.
