I am so confused. This show has an amazing cast and decent reviews. Why have I not heard a thing about this 8-part limited series. Is it the fault of Discovery since this is there first scripted series or am I just crazy? The first episode aired last Tuesday and the second episode airs tomorrow. Has anybody watched this? It has a 71 on metacritic and an 88 on Rotten Tomatoes.

I watch the first episode. Do not get me wrong, this was not bad. But it felt very uninspired. It was serviceable. I will keep watching just because I am interested in the subject matter but I don’t care about the characters and the writing is very standard.

Sam Worthington is the lead, based on the pilot. Paul Bettany was barely in this. He narrated a part and then was in a scene that you’ll miss if you blink.

I didn’t like Worthington in this. I felt like I could see him acting. He didn’t do anything special and it seemed like he was trying to hard in parts.

I would recommend this if you are interested in  the subject. It isn’t bad, It’s just serviceable. That being said, it’s better than Genius (in my opinion)

    MVP: Chris Noth
    My grade: C-

Oh, Worthington is the lead? I think I’m out.

The second episode was a tad bit better. I was invested in the mystery part of the investigation and I liked learning about how Worthington’s character solved the mystery. I just really don’t care about thee cardboard characters.  Worthington was better in the second episode but nothing special. He does what he needs to do. Bettany was the MVP with his limited screen time. I could imagine some people disliking his performance though.
