What a terrific trailer. I am gagging.August 6, 2018 at 9:01 am #1202603611
Looks great but also shows why they stopped referring to it as a comedy seriesAugust 6, 2018 at 11:05 am #1202603710
I thought Jonah Hill was gonna be the top-billed star. I guess winning an Oscar makes you lead everywhere *cough* Emma Stone *cough*. I think it’ll be an interesting show and both Hill and Stone will deliver.August 6, 2018 at 11:15 am #1202603724
The teaser had Hill > Stone > Theroux > Field, but the trailer has Stone > Hill > Field > Theroux.

Looks great! I’m a huge Emma Stone fan, and of course Sally Field, so can’t wait for this.August 6, 2018 at 11:55 am #1202603754
I could’ve sworn there was a forum for this. This looks amazing. Amy Adams will definitely not have an easy path come May.August 6, 2018 at 11:58 am #1202603758
Justin Theroux may win just for that hairstyle like Allison Janney did in I, Tonya.August 6, 2018 at 12:20 pm #1202603767
It definitely looks like a limited series and not comedy. Was the original a comedy?August 6, 2018 at 1:14 pm #1202603816
Not a comedy. Limited series, yes.August 6, 2018 at 7:02 pm #1202604153
Emmy Nominee Mizuno please
(or winner?)August 6, 2018 at 9:15 pm #1202604248
Egot Stone is coming!
and Justin Theroux should win his emmy for The Leftovers idc!August 6, 2018 at 11:23 pm #1202604311
Justin Theroux may win just for that hairstyle like Allison Janney did in I, Tonya.
Janney had the layered and uniquely memorable performance as that villainous mom to propel to all those wins though. If Theroux also gives one hell of a performance than of course he can win an Emmy. That will surely please many a Leftovers stan.

More than anything, I am just super-excited to see Cary Fukanaga do more television. His Directing helped make True Detective Season 1 a phenomenon. I also was a fan of Beasts of No Nation even though I haven’t seen it in years and am not sure how it holds up. Every time viewing a movie is a slightly different experience, you know? I can’t wait for this show to premiere on Netflix next month! Even if it bombs I can still see multiple Oscar nominee Hill and Oscar winner Stone getting in with SAG’s hardly competitive TV Movie/Mini acting categories. Outside of Criss, Adams, and I will even throw Emmy nominee for “The Looming Tower” Daniels in there, I think both those categories are really wide open. Plus, SAG voters love big celebrity names about as much as the Globes do, let’s be honest. Their pro-Netflix bias is also undeniable.

Fun fact: I just looked up who the Cinematographer was for fun and saw that it was Darren Lew for all 10 Maniac episodes, who also did the Cinematography for the late great David Bowie’s music video “Blackstar.” Pretty cool.
