So this seems obvious, but I wanted to see if three way vote splitting makes a difference. If you were an Emmy voter which one would you vote for? I am not asking who you think will win.July 14, 2017 at 2:01 pm #1202152611
Bayer.July 14, 2017 at 2:01 pm #1202152613
I think I’m in the minority, but Jones is my favorite by far. I know she always breaks character but she’s just a hilarious person.July 14, 2017 at 2:05 pm #1202152616
All three women are great for sure, but both McKinnon and Jones are celebrated actresses. Poor Miss Vanessa Byer needs her moment as well.July 14, 2017 at 2:17 pm #1202152630
Now this is a bit tricky. Who would I vote for if I was an Emmy Voter? I’d actually vote for either Jones or Bayer since I like spreading the wealth. But who do I think was the best of the three? McKinnon by a mile.
Since the poll is trying to figure out who would overcome vote-split in such a scenario, I’ll vote for who I actually would have voted for – Jones it is.July 14, 2017 at 2:19 pm #1202152633
Bayer. But I don’t think any of them deliver Emmy-caliber performances.July 14, 2017 at 2:29 pm #1202152651

I think I’m gonna switch to Bayer as my prediction. I know this poll isn’t reliable, but a ton of people were ecstatic about her nomination. NOBODY expected and the “wtf” factor if that nomination could help her stand out, like Peter Scolari. I thought most people preferred light to Hahn but it seems about 50/50.July 14, 2017 at 3:51 pm #1202152729
My absolute favorite BAYER for her farewell season:”)July 14, 2017 at 3:57 pm #1202152738
That Vanessa Bayer nomination is suddenly making more and more sense to me. Also I know it’s just a poll here at Goldderby, and we should probably wait a while, but McKinnon is seriously losing votes to Jones AND Bayer. Don’t know for sure if any of the SNL ladies wins the Emmy.
The other poll has Hahn stealing more votes from Light than I imagined, so is this Chlumsky’s to lose? But I just cannot fathom Chlumsky winning for her worst season.
At least Light is still leading the other poll, and she still is the veteran in the category (read: Regina King, Peter Scolari, Margo Martindale), so I’ll probably stick with Light.
Still too soon though.July 14, 2017 at 3:58 pm #1202152742
I forgot that this was Bayer’s farewell season. That strengthens my argument even more. Okay I feel fairly confident in predicting Bayer to win.
On this popular vote it helps when you stick out on the ballot. Nobody expected her to get nominated. I think that’ll help her. Just like how Louie Anderson and Peter Scolari stuck out (which is a reason that i think Galifinakis could upset but that’s for another thread).July 14, 2017 at 3:58 pm #1202152743
Bayer is easily the best to me. I have no idea how Jones got nominated. I don’t find her funny at all. McKinnon has some good characters with Hillary, Sessions, and Conway, but outside of those 3 I find her to be one of the weaker cast members. It should really be Cecily Strong. I don’t know how 3 SNL cast members get nominated here without her being one of them.July 14, 2017 at 4:04 pm #1202152746
McKinnon McKinnon, and McKinnon! Interestingly, I only predicted Kate McKinnon to be nominated out of the women from the SNL regular cast, but if I had predicted a 2nd, it would have been Cecily Strong!
For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!
