I enjoyed “Good Grief”. I thought the stories wove together nicely. I loved the DeDe figurines. I also liked the costumes.October 26, 2018 at 9:59 am #1202662294
No suprise about it being DeDe she was the only logical choice … Good episode

Good Grief was a great episode and would make a great writing submission.October 30, 2018 at 3:45 am #1202664859
I was three episodes behind and I liked them all very much. The sketches of Mitch and Cam in episode 3 were hilarious, the Haley story line with Dillon and Arvin was great, all the jokes with word ¨doll¨ were pure comedic gold, I loved the final scene with her and the skateboard and Dillon and the costume, it was beautiful. And episode 5 was very well written, all the costumes were great, especially Cameron´s, the balance between the drama and the comedy was great, the story of Lily and Gloria very laughable. This season is much better than the last two in my opinion.November 5, 2018 at 5:53 pm #1202669152
“Are we on the same Paige” was a blah episode for me. Mitch dressing up as the new was funny, but predictable when he was flying across the stage. The Jay/Gloria story wasn’t that great. The Dunphy story was the best.November 8, 2018 at 6:14 am #1202670764
“Did the chicken cross the road” was another blah episode for me. I enjoyed the part where Mitch was in the backyard and talking to the chicken. The last scene with Jay/Gloria/Joe and the beets was the best part.November 8, 2018 at 6:55 am #1202670790
I hated this episode. My grade: D+. Honestly, I’ll give it one or two more episodes but I might be done with this show if it doesn’t get betterNovember 8, 2018 at 9:53 am #1202670901
I think I liked this one better than most others. The chicken story actually completely worked for me; it was a nice way to acknowledge the effect Cam and Mitchell have had on each other over the years. And Mitchell describing why he liked the chicken while basically describing himself (nervous movements, little burst of red on top) was very funny to me. And I admit to laughing at the punny nicknames (Princess Layer and Chicki Minaj especially). It was fun to see Luke accurately diagnosing everyone based on his psych textbook. Phil’s Russian spy bit was over-the-top, but the payoff scene with Alex was great.
Much as I want Sarah Hyland to have a lot to do, Hayley being pregnant does not excite me as a story.November 29, 2018 at 5:23 am #1202684830
“Kids these Days” was an average episode for me. I loved the Mitch/Phil story and the star wars part at the end. Sarah Hyland continues to shine and was very good here with conflicting feelings. The Claire/Alex/Gloria stuff just seemed awkward and I didn’t really care for the football storyline.December 6, 2018 at 9:29 am #1202691426
“The Tree of Strife” was another average episode. I actually liked the kid story the best with Haley/Alex/Luke. Sarah Hyland was the highlight again. I’d love to see her get an Emmy nomination, but I doubt that will happen. I also liked the Claire/Phil story. It was funny and sweet. I know Cam loves Missouri, but I didn’t realize he wanted to move back there. The Jay/Gloria stuff was just bad.
*Does Phil still own the majic shop? There’s been no mention of it.
*Is Phil still teaching? Wouldn’t he need a teaching license to teach at a community college?
*Where’s Joe? He hasn’t been in the last couple of episodes. Normally he gets the best lines.December 13, 2018 at 10:26 am #1202700330
“Stuck in the Moment” was a better overall episode. The Dunphy’s had the best storyline. Sarah Hyland continues to shine. The Jay/Gloria story was dumb with the spiders and elbow cream, but it created some good lines for Joe.
New episodes resume Jan 9, 2019.December 13, 2018 at 10:28 am #1202700334
No word yet, but it looks like Modern Family is getting closer to having an 11th season.December 13, 2018 at 12:58 pm #1202700475
Ugh at that lame spider nonsense.
Alex’s physical reactions to keeping a secret were a bit much. Hyland made the episode, and the final reveal moment was well done.
They seem to have reduced Luke to standing around in tight shirts; he almost never gets a major story thread any more.
