“Pool Party” was definitely a step up for the season. The thing with Claire and the closet data breach was a mess, but the other two stories worked great. I think Gloria’s “That is why I’ve been humping my bust” was my favorite network sitcom line of the young season.October 23, 2019 at 4:30 am #1203148651
I would have been happy with the entire episode focusing on the pool party storyline. That was one of the funniest story lines.October 31, 2019 at 6:47 am #1203160296
“The Last Halloween ” was a good episode. I loved the Phil/Claire story the best. The scenes with Alex and Luke at the restaurant were also great. Jay’s story with the candy bar was the weakest.October 31, 2019 at 8:26 am #1203160476
That was a worthy addition to the show’s Halloween tradition. The Claire/Phil reveal was telegraphed just a bit early, but then it went on to reveal that the set-up was more elaborate than we could have guessed. The Alex/Luke stuff was nice, though Luke’s comment about the nun was a little creepy, I guess because I had just seen a rerun where he was about 10. The kids have truly grown up in front of us.
Jay’s candy bar was a bit of a reach, but I did enjoy Gloria gradually realizing she’s getting older. That gave Vergara some nice moments.November 7, 2019 at 2:32 pm #1203170217
“A game of chicken ” was an odd episode for me. I enjoyed the Luke part the best. It was nice seeing him growing up and thinking about his future. Hopefully they continue on with his story and don’t just drop out. Gloria wanting to Baptize the twins without Haley or Dylan’s permission was kind of odd. I liked the Cam against the dolphin mascot story, too. I just wish he would have talked to Mitch about wanting to coach college football and having that coach there.November 21, 2019 at 2:22 pm #1203195656
“The Last Thanksgiving” was an enjoyable episode. I loved the Jay/Phil/Dillon story with the airplane the best. It was a great nod to the episode from season 1. I really like it when the Dunphy children share scenes. Joe was the best part, especially when he was talking to Claire and air quoting Manny is going through something.December 5, 2019 at 5:49 pm #1203219282
“Tree’s a crowd” was a great episode. I enjoyed all the stories. I liked the Dunphy’s with Jerry and Farrah coming back and their interaction. I also enjoyed the Manny/Jay/Gloria story with Luke kissing Sherri (what a twist) and coming clean about it. I wonder if they’ll play on this further?!. Cam/Mitch had the weak/predictable story, but it was still enjoyable.December 12, 2019 at 2:54 pm #1203234166
“Last Christmas ” was another enjoyable episode. I always love the MF holiday shows. I am wondering How the show is going to end. Will the Pritchett-Tucker’s move to Missouri if Cam gets the head coaching job? Will Alex take a job in NYC?. Will Haley, Dillon and the twins move to Paris? There were a lot of possibilities that came up in last night’s episode.

“The Prescott” was a great episode. The beginning was a little corny, but once the stories got going, it was really funny. It would be a great episode to submit for directing.
Phil had the two best lines:
Phil:”For as nice of a family we are, we do have a lot of rivals”.
“I’ll a need a bib. I can get messy”.
The series last air date is April 8, 2020. It’s amazing that’s been on three decades. I wonder how many other shows can claim that?January 9, 2020 at 1:49 pm #1203272697
The Prescott had so much potential but the 22 minute time limit worked against it. I wish they had made this episode a two-part one.January 16, 2020 at 4:54 am #1203287409
“The Prescott” was a great episode and I hope that Stephen Merchant will be submitted for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.January 16, 2020 at 5:02 am #1203287430
“The Legacy” was a weird episode. I enjoyed the Phil/Frank until the end. It was sad and I didn’t see it coming. When Phil was speaking at the end, it felt really short.
I like the Joe scenes, too. The Claire/Mitch scenes were the worst.January 16, 2020 at 10:43 am #1203287842

Honestly it’s kind of surprising to think it took them so long to ever bring Merchant back. His initial guest spot was absolutely hilarious, and totally Emmy worthy. I know he won’t, but I hope he gets nominated for this.January 23, 2020 at 9:22 am #1203300230
The Prescott was a good homage to the Vegas episode.
Haley was awesome in this last episode. And I loved Gloria’s reactions to Manny’s awful one-man show.
It’s been nice seeing Stephen Merchant, Benjamin Bratt, Fred Willard, Josh Gad and Jay’s longtime assistant Margaret.
Anybody else feel like they’re building toward Jay’s death to end the series?January 23, 2020 at 4:06 pm #1203301400
“Dead on a Rival” was an odd episode. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t that funny either. I loved Gloria’s reaction to Manny’s one man show. I laughed at how Manny only had one fan afterwards, too. It was nice to see Javier, too. The Dunphy story had potential, but kind of fell flat to me. Same with Mitch/Cam. They both had laughs, but I was hoping for more.
