-I believe that since the Emmys began separating comedy and drama performances, Jodie Comer may be the first British actress to win this category (also the youngest winner).

-Surely if she wins, Regina King is making some kind of record in limited?

Ah yes, if Zendaya wins she will be the youngest (and it will take a looooong time before an actress even younger than her will take it).

Omg, how tf did I forget Foy??? Changing that stat…if Olivia Colman wins, it will be 3 consecutive years that a British Actress has taken the award.

She’d tie Helen Mirren for most acting awards in limited, though I believe King has already made history when she won 3 acting awards in limited in only four years.

How long would it be until a younger actress would even be nominated?

Even Millie Bobby Brown as the most popular and acclaimed aspect of the biggest show in the world is still in supporting.

Is this the first year that no acting category is completely white?

The Handmaid’s Tale now is only one Production Design win away from tying Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire for wins in Production Design.

    – SNL now has the joint most Guest Acting wins of any show in a single category ever with The Practice.

    – Maya Rudolph has become the first person to win an acting category against themselves.

    – Cherry Jones is the first person to repeat in guest actress for two completely different shows.

    – Ron Cephas Jones is the first person to win this category twice for the same performance and second to do so for the same show.

    – Ron Cephas Jones is also the first person to have been informed they have incorrectly lost an award to Jason Bateman.

Obviously you can make many permutations of Schitt’s Creek being the first comedy to go 7/7. (After 0, 0, 0, 0 nominations, then 0 wins; pretty astounding for a turnaround).

But I also find it notable that the last comedy to win all 7 during its entire run at all was Cheers, which did it 30 years ago when Danson finally got 1. So no comedies since then have been deemed the best at some point in their run for every category.

This is the sweepiest Emmys ever in the 7/7/7 format. The only other time that 3 shows each won 4+ majors and no other shows won 2 was 1981 with Taxi/Hill St Blues/Playing for Time.

BUT Playing for Time wasn’t up for Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, or Directing. Taxi wasn’t up for Supporting Actress.

In comparison, only Succession wasn’t up for Lead Actress.

I saw that originally Schitt’s Creek was being called the first Comedy or Drama to sweep the 4 main acting categories, which has now been amended to just the first comedy. Which Drama did this previously?

Sorry if it’s been posted repeatedly, I was at work during the ceremony and couldn’t stay up to date with the forums.

No Drama did it either – there’s only Angels in America in Limited to do it previously. Some articles might be including AiA as a drama because it was a dramatic limited series? I don’t know – but Schitt’s is the first Comedy or Drama to do it.
