Interesting. This is their version of pulling an Oprah that so many of y’all wanted to happen. Like I said yesterday she in the showed had their Frasier moment and it was ugly. I think the season will be strong enough to maintain its status when it’s eligible again. Who will benefit from the queen’s absence?September 18, 2017 at 10:05 am #1202217202
Thank goodness! This bodes well for Tracee Ellis Ross and Debra Messing.September 18, 2017 at 10:10 am #1202217211This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.September 18, 2017 at 10:24 am #1202217230

What in the hell does any of that mean?September 18, 2017 at 2:51 pm #1202217506
Oh, wow. Let me light my scented prayer candles for Lily Tomlin.
I’ve been rooting for her to beat JLD for years. Now she doesn’t have to!September 18, 2017 at 2:53 pm #1202217509
If this is true (big IF), Debra could definitely win.September 18, 2017 at 3:01 pm #1202217520
The lineup outside of Julia is stale anyway. They need to completely revamp their comedy lead actress roster. And fuck Silicon Valley. It was garbage in season one.September 18, 2017 at 3:01 pm #1202217521
The article talks about “likely” not certainty. I for one don’t believe this. Especially with production happening now in October. I don’t see how this would be in HBO’s interest seeing how well they did in numbers of wins this year; it’s certainly their goal to maintain that, and they simply have no other reliable Comedy Series contender…
… unless they really have faith in my boy Larry David.September 18, 2017 at 3:06 pm #1202217526
It always bugs me when a popular show is delayed long enough to miss Emmy eligibility, so from that perspective, I hope it doesn’t have. The season seems to be written and starting production soon, so seems like just a matter of what HBO wants to do with it.
But it is always interesting when the heir apparent to a big award is suddenly absent. I have a hard time imagining that Will & Grace now becomes a favorite or anywhere near, but it’ll be fun to see how it shakes out.September 18, 2017 at 3:24 pm #1202217542This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.September 18, 2017 at 3:29 pm #1202217554
If this is real (which I don’t think it will be) then this is a stupid move. Why would they purposely ruin JLD’s streak and their Series streak? If she could really win for all seasons of the show in a row wouldn’t they want that?September 18, 2017 at 3:31 pm #1202217556

The lineup is, but there’s a lot of great potential nominees.
