Let’s have some fun.
What prediction seems ridiculously easy to you that makes you think everyone else is blind?
My answer: Giancarlo Esposito is so winning Drama Guest Actor. It’s not even close. And no. I haven’t seen his episode (or any from that show). But he’s respected, never won, double nominee, black actor… And it’s a category voters sometimes use to throw bones whithout making any sense.
I do think all guest winners will be black, but this particular category is the one people seem to be sleeping on.

August 15, 2020 at 7:23 pm #1203647838While I don’t think he is anywhere near a lock, I think Giancarlo Esposito is far from a long shot.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 15, 2020 at 7:24 pm #1203647840Could happen . That category has no front runner . N Giancarlo works with everyone. He appears in like everything so people would vote Bc they know him.
I would say Eddie Murphy is easy win but in forum people are fighting about it
ReplyCopy URLAugust 15, 2020 at 7:34 pm #1203647844I think the following are easy wins but long shots to everyone else (from what I’ve seen) :
– Laura Linney
– Jeremy Strong
– Alex Borstein
– Tony Shalhoub
– Ramy Youseff
– Cherry JonesReplyCopy URLFYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

Linney, Borstein, and Shalhboub are all considered frontrunners this year though.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 15, 2020 at 9:31 pm #1203647977In today’s climate I think in a wide open lesser category like Guest Actress, the name Angela Bassett in A Black Lady Sketch Show on the ballot is going to be appealing for voters to check off. Especially with Rudolph splitting voters with herself, PWB has already being rewarded last year, and Maisel not as hot for Sykes.

August 15, 2020 at 10:20 pm #1203648055I don’t know why people are saying Esposito for guest but not supporting, or even both.

Yes but many here have doubted them happening. A user above mentioned Eddie Murphy is an easy win but said they mentioned him because people on the forums have been doubting them despite the fact they are frontrunners. I thought I’d mention people who are being doubted a lot on the forums too.

August 16, 2020 at 4:30 am #1203648322Fiona Shaw. That category has no frontrunner and she can very well win. I don’t know why so many people think she’s a long shot.
ReplyCopy URLAugust 16, 2020 at 5:32 am #1203648368Because apparently losing the previous year against Julia Garner when she had no material means she is out this time. I hope people following this logic are also considering Jodie Comer is ahead of Laura Linney.

I am sorry, what? Are you trying to say Laura had no material last year? Because that isn’t true.

El Camino is winning TV Movie. It’s the definition of obvious.

It can obviously win but saying it’s the definition of obvious is literally delusional.

I don’t know. Every other contender seems to be weak in that category and we see how when that happens they often defer to a special episode or movie of a show. Seems pretty obvious to me.
