35 years to the day after the original series premiered, ABC hopes folks will come back for seconds.
Episode 1.1: Angel With a Broken Wing
Written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar; directed by Marcos Siega
Meet three women with checkered pasts who are now in the employ of mysterious millionaire Charlie Townsend, who enlists them to solve crimes. Abby Sampson, a wealthy socialite turned world-class thief; Kate Prince, a former Miami cop who fell into corruption, losing both her fiancé and her career; and Gloria Morales, a disgraced army lieutenant with a penchant for explosives. When a tragic accident claims Gloria’s life, Charlie and his eyes and ears on the ground, computer hacker John Bosley, convince the two remaining Angels to partner with Eve French, a short-tempered street racer and Gloria’s childhood friend.
I enjoyed the second episode much much more than the pilot. It had something that the first episode didn’t have,. And that was the “cover story” each Angel has. It’s classic Charlie’s Angels. That’s why I love the Charlie’s Angels franchie, because it’s not typical cop. I will give this series a shot, it’s pretty different from other shows. Although Im going to have to adjust to the new Bosley. To me, Bosley is this kinda weird character that assists the Angels in their tasks, he’s not some hacker.
