I really enjoyed the premiere, though it did feel a little overstuffed. “Side Sitting” was definitely lesser, though I loved the subplot with Susie’s portrait. I thought “Artificial Fruit” was good, especially because the attention to minutiae felt quintessential Curb; plus it was directed by Cheryl Hines! I’m optimistic about the season overall. It hasn’t given us a series-best episode like “Palestinian Chicken” from Season 8 yet, but no other comedy on TV makes me laugh as much as this one does, even when it goes too broad.

Sunday Night’s “Artificial Fruit” killed me, really going for the jugular this season more than ever it seems. It’s a pleasure.

Episode Title: “You’re Not Going to Get Me to Say Anything Bad About”

Synopsis: Travel plans go awry when Larry brings an impromptu date to a destination wedding. And, at the hotel, Larry finds himself in a sticky situation when he goes searching for a toothbrush.

    Discuss.

Trump shared a clip from the MAGA episode. Can’t believe it.

Not a series classic, but a welcome departure from the last two episodes! What has been unfortunately consistent has been how lacklustre J.B. Smoove has been. Leon has had more material in some seasons than others, but Smoove always brought it. He has seemed to have been phoning it in these four episodes. Perhaps part of the problem is how overstuffed things have been. The episodes are of course too long, but the show has become something of a hangout show, making for a different kind of deadweight. This used to be less of an ensemble piece, instead relying on Larry’s interactions with guest stars. Even when the show added Leon, it compensated by taking out Cheryl. Everyone is around all the time this season and I can see that dynamic being less conducive to individual characterization and the inspired improvisation that that should yield.

This was a strong episode.  And so many guest stars!

    This season is on fire!

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

Maybe the best episode of the season. It felt classic all the way through.

Last week’s episode “Insufficient Praise” was the strongest of the season other than the premiere, by far. I’ve been enjoying the others like last night’s and the destination wedding one, but the extended runtime does definitely change the vibe of the show. The plots are getting more complicated and at times much more contrived, but like I said earlier in the season, it’s still one of the funniest shows around. I wouldn’t mind more seasons in this vein, even if they’re not at the level of the series at its peak.

I can’t believe we didn’t get to see Susie trying Larry’s bathroom.

Best episode of the season! It was a collection of a hundred ridiculous scenes. The only thing that did not quite work was the final gag.

I finally caught up on the season last night, and while I was enjoying it, something seemed off. After looking on here, I realized it must’ve been the longer episodes. It’s not that they’re running low on material, but the plots feel like they’re being stretched a bit too thin. Still, Curb is always funny and I’m enjoying this season. I agree with the sentiment that the first and sixth episodes are clearly the best.

This episode was very different. It was funny though.

I can’t believe he denied himself magical vagina because he resented losing 500 dollars under false pretense. The Ugly Section was sharp because it’s based on a truth that establishments want the most attractive at their windows.

The reason for the suicide was kinda silly, so I thought it was actually disappointment from the vagina not being magical, lol.
