13 Reasons Why is getting squat, I don’t even know why there is a discussion. I love the show but it was never an Emmy show from the beginning and it never tried to be one. The only Emmy-worthy material is Kate Walsh’s acting but even that does not come close to our top 6 in the predictions center.

I wish you and the HTGAWM squad can grasp this concept.

Also there is no way Walsh gave a better performance than Langford. No.way.

Why do you have to bring HTGAWM into this?? This comment has nth to do with that. And Viola’s and Cicely’s acting is definitely Emmy-worthy. Thank God her win proves that.

Exactly. This is a forum to discuss performances that worthy of getting nominated for an Emmy and that is why I champion Viola Davis, Cicely Tyson, Liza Weil and Jimmy Smits from How To Get Away With Murder. I am also championing Schitt’s Creek and Baskets.

We are not discussing the People’s Choice Awards.

I don’t know what this shit talk about “Emmy shows” and “not Emmy shows” in every damn forum topics. If the performance is good, then it’s good and people will be rooting for it. 13 Reasons Why had amazing, Emmy-worthy performances (Langford, Minnette, Boe, Flynn, Walsh) and so did HTGAWM (Davis, Tyson, King, Souza, Falahee, Weil, Smith, Caldwell).

Oh, i will lose my shit if anyone else from Shameless gets nominated and it’s not Emmy Rossum.

Tell me about it she did some damn good work in almost all the seasons. And she does not even get a name check as opposed to macy.  Can someone tell me why they just overlook anyone not named macy in shameless.

Other than Davis and Tyson, the Academy will never recognize anyone from that cast although they are all brilliant. And all supporting actresses are better than Millie BB at least. But Liza Weil is the really the one who should have been nominated for season 2. 2×07 where she tells Annalise to die is one hell of a performance. And Karla Souza in 4×08, wow!!

Well damn! Tiffany Haddish REALLY wants an Emmy nomination this year! She’s been submitted for the following:

Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: The Last O.G.
Guest Actress in a Comedy Series: Saturday Night Live
    Narrator: Drunk History
Voice-Over Performance: Legends of Chamberlain Heights
Variety Special: Tiffany Haddish: She Ready! From the Hood to Hollywood

…and there might be more she submitted to!!! I think she will definitely be one of the multiple Emmy nominees come nomination day!

    Comedy Central categories… http://www.goldderby.com/article/2018/emmys-2018-comedy-central-categories-the-daily-show-broad-city-drunk-history-news/

Surprised by no Peri Gilpin for guest actress in Broad City, she definitely seems like an outside chance at a nom had she been on the ballot

It is fraud for her to submit in lead.

I personally couldn’t get into the show after watching the first two episodes, however, I can very easily see voters name-checking her in Lead Actress in a Comedy Series after the year she’s had. Melissa McCartney won for her debut season of Mike & Molly… which wasn’t exactly groundbreaking television… but it happened as a result of her movie career breakthrough from Bridesmaids.

Looking at the Comedy Central submissions now, and sorry to rant about this again, but for the life of me, I do not understand how Nathan for You is a sketch series. Wtf?

It is a comedy docu-reality series with clearly some producer structuring/manipulation. So i don’t know why they didn’t just put it in one of the doc/reality series categories. Just because something is funny, doesn’t make it a sketch series. Doc/reality shows can be comedic too.

And I also don’t know why they are submitting Nathan Fielder as Lead Comedy Actor. Again…. wtf? He has an exaggerated persona, but it’s not acting-acting. They should submit him as as a Reality Host. He actually stands a chance of getting nominated in that category, maybe not a huge chance, but still.

I do like that they submitted the Finding Frances documentary feature but sadly it’s wrongly submmited as a Variety Special, and I doubt it gets nominated there. That category is for stand-up comedians and the Kennedy Center Honors and so on. A documentary feature is not going to stand a chance in that category. I also would have submitted Nathan Fielder in one of the doc/reality directing categories, but it looks like they are not even submitting the directing for consideration, just the show itself and Nathan as an “actor.” So disappointing.

I swear, sometimes I feel like networks should hire us as FYC campaign consultants. We know our shit more than they seem to!

Broad City again very selective with their submissions, skipping Alan Alda last year and Steve Buscemi this year.

James Corden submitted across four program categories?  That is some thirst.

Did not realize that Drop the Mic is another Corden entity, plus The Late Late Show is dually eligible for Interactive Program. And Corden is submitting his performance in James Corden’s Next James Corden for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

I just hope that Carpool Karaoke shit is nowhere near the Emmys this year. Enough!

I love Haddish, but I am not here for her category fraud in The Last OG. Of the 7 episodes that aired she is not in 3 of them and only has one scene in another. Like gworl bye. You are Guest at best.
