Thrilling season premiere! I should have watched the marathon prior to this to recall everything, but it all came together by the end. Claire Danes is as explosive as ever here, and I’m looking forward to a new season of Carrie antics. Don’t like the twist of President Keene going bad, but I guess it’s wholly apt. I’ll mention again how utterly horrible Jake Weber’s southern accent it. He doesn’t even try to hide his British accent anymore. It goes from one to the other in a single, overblown line reading. Just so ridiculous, but whatever. Looks like Max is a series regular! They need to bring Virgil back ASAP.February 12, 2018 at 5:05 am #1202492336
Soo umm… this was terrible.
Why exactly? I can’t help but ask as someone who used to enjoy the show but quit after Season 5 bored the hell out of me, minus Miranda Otto’s storyline. I only saw the Season 6 finale because of the Emmys it was nominated for, and did not care for it at all.February 12, 2018 at 7:10 am #1202492372
I wasn’t a fan of this new ensemble in Season 6 (McClendon, O’Keefe, Keane) and I still don’t like them in this premiere. I can’t tell if now I am supposed to be on the side of O’Keefe, since we know now that Keane is corrupt? They are all insufferable. I also don’t like the topic of a President off the rails and “the resistance”, I don’t need my entertainment to be so close to reality. The spy game played in this episode led to absolutely no where. Remember the days of “The Smile?” and how frikin badass that was. Gansa and co. refuse to allow Carrie any wins recently and it’s just getting stale.February 12, 2018 at 7:23 am #1202492386
Well this season is going to be something if its like the first episode evey week. My grade: B+February 12, 2018 at 1:54 pm #1202492683
I’m not sure how I feel about the premiere, I feel lost, perhaps I should’ve re-watched the previous season. O’Keefe was exciting in season 6, but now he’s just annoying. Carrie analyzing facial expressions via surveillance camera is just stupid.February 13, 2018 at 4:24 pm #1202493401
That was ok, Danes was her usual good, that reporter is insufferable.
Saul is everything.February 13, 2018 at 9:11 pm #1202493504
Very good. I preferred this to other recent Homeland season premieres, maybe because there’s less of a ‘reset’ happening so it got going quickly. Carrie got up to a lot of shenanigans, Saul’s scene was a good one, and what happened to the General (brutal!) is a nice spark to set things off this season.February 18, 2018 at 7:11 am #1202495855
Episode Title: “Rebel, Rebel”
Synopsis: Carrie makes a discovery; Wellington protects Keane; O’Keefe continues to broadcast.

Great first two episodes! We’re veering ever so close to Crazy Carrie again, which I’m completely here for. She was that bitch tonight!!! Not as engaged with Keene or the supporting cast like I would have hoped to be. You start to see the toll of what losing Lewis, Friend, Abraham, Otto, Rebhorn, and many others have meant over the years to the series. Thank goodness for Mandy Patinkin. This should be a meaty storyline for Saul, at least, even if it means more Jake Weber. Sigh.February 19, 2018 at 7:02 am #1202496841
Good episode. Liked it a lot. My grade: AFebruary 19, 2018 at 11:08 am #1202496977
I liked the premiere and the second episode was very watchable, but it was nonsense.February 19, 2018 at 4:34 pm #1202497109
This was ridiculous but another Emmy worthy tape for Danes. I’d welcome her returning to the category.February 19, 2018 at 4:58 pm #1202497122
Ok, the whole 4chan thing was ridiculous. It ruined the episode for me, even if I enjoyed seeing some kick ass Carrie.
I absolutely loath O’Keefe and every minute he’s on my screen I like the episode a little less.
