I am so tired of this. These shows earned them 5 and 2 Emmy noms respectively, and a win for Davis. Plus, a handful of SAG, Globe and CC bids. And I know that both are eternally grateful for these shows.

What you’re “tired” of is entirely irrelevant. My opinion is just as valid as your fangirling.

Why do people always pretend like this show somehow did her dirty? The same with Kerry Washington and Scandal. Both have said many, many, many times that these are roles of a lifetime for them. Why would you wish for a better show for them then if they were satisfied? Don’t get me wrong, I know where you’re coming from, and had HTGAWM and Scandal been more “prestigious” shows, of course they’d have even more hardware on their shelves, but, personally, I still think Annalise and Olivia remain truly iconic. I didn’t want to come at you like that though, my apologies.

I know what thing.. Obviously, once post pandemic has lifted, I cant wait to see what’s in store for Queen Vee. I know she’s got Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” this year, and right before pandemic broke, she was set to do a movie with Sandra Bullock for Netflix. Not sure if she even got a chance to shoot any scenes yet though. If she ever decides to do tv again in the next few years, with her first look deal with Amazon, I’d sure like to see her in a comedy vehicle. We haven’t been privy to NEARLY enough comedy Viola yet. I think she would amazing in one!!

I think her television work for here on out will be limited series and TV movies.

I’ve been bingeing the whole series in preparation for S6 and I’ve never noticed before how many times every character says “Boning”.

I know it’s ABC so they can’t exactly “f*cking” but hot damn after a 16 hour binge it really starts to get annoying.

Whether she will get nominated or not, is anyone’s guess at this point. But what do you all consider to be Viola’s top 5 episodes, performance wise, for the final season? While, I have no doubt, if she is nominated, she will submit ‘Stay’, here are mine:

    1) “Stay”
    2) “Say Goodbye”
    3) “The Reckoning”
    4) “What if Sam wasn’t the bad guy this whole time?”
    5) “Annalise Keating is dead”

    What are yours?

Note: From 2 to 5, they are not in any specific order…

I posted this in the Guest performer category thread. But for those who haven’t see it, I’ll post it in here as well.. Cicely Tyson Receives Peabody Career Achievement Award as She’s Honored by Oprah, Viola https://people.com/movies/cicely-tyson-receives-peabody-career-achievement-award/

Go, mama Cicely! Amazing she’s getting these kinds of honors at 95!

“HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER”
    Drama Series
    Drama Actress – Viola Davis
Drama Supporting Actor – Rome Flynn, Conrad Ricamora, Charlie Weber
Drama Supporting Actress – Amirah Vann, Liza Weil
Drama Guest Actress – Beverly Todd, Cicely Tyson

I am glad that Amirah Vann was submitted and she would make a deserving nominee. However, there are some glaring omissions based on this list.

What is up with these submissions.
I had to google who Beverley Todd was, still didn’t know who she played even when I saw a photo of her.
No Tom Verica, Karla Souza, Marsha Stephanie Blake or Famke Janssen un guest??

No Jack Falahee or Aja Naomi King??

I rewatched the first four season of this gem over the last few months and I love it. Season 4 is so underappreciated! I will never not love this show!

Also, Murder fans, don’t forget to vote for Viola, Cicely and “Stay” in the Gold Derby Awards! There’s also Liza Weil & Famke Janssen!
