I didn’t see a topic for season 3, which premiered Friday February 8th on Netflix.
I watched it all day Saturday and I once again really enjoyed it. Yes, it’s “old-fashioned” in structure and in the multi-cam setup, but dang it, I don’t mind. I love that it is earnest and presents real struggles of families. I love that over the 3 seasons, we’ve gotten to know and love the characters which allows the growth and storylines to be more authentic.
The Broadcast Critics gave the show a nomination, along with Machado and Moreno. I would love for the Emmys to follow suit this year.
It currently has an 82 on Metacritic and is at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Is anyone else keeping up with the show?February 11, 2019 at 10:28 am #1202772252
Probably the most underrated show currently on television. The things it’s able to do, the tones it’s able to juggle, the heart it is, while still being laugh out loud hilarious. Everyone should give this a shotFebruary 11, 2019 at 10:50 am #1202772283
Every episode this season is perfect or almost perfect. I love them all.February 11, 2019 at 10:54 am #1202772302

Around halfway through the third season and LOVING it! One of the most underrated treasures on television today.February 11, 2019 at 1:41 pm #1202772511
Most underrated TV comedy.
Last season Justina Machado should have won all the awards over Rachel Broshnam..no kidding.March 14, 2019 at 10:52 am #1202816425

Man, this fucking sucks. This show was so wonderful. It was telling important stories and revitalizing a dormant format. I know Gloria Calderon Kellett has multiple pilots in production this season, but I hope the cast is able to land on their feet (get Justina Machado in a starring vehicle ASAP). I will so miss this beautiful little show.March 14, 2019 at 11:18 am #1202816439

This is very sad. Shows like 13RW and Riverdale are being renewed even though they have nothing left to say, while this gem of a show is being cancelled. SHAME ON NETFLIX.March 14, 2019 at 11:31 am #1202816454
Netflix seems to be cancelling or forcing a lot of shows to have finales when they don’t have any ownership in them. A lot of these shows they licensed when they wanted to make a name for themselves in original content and now that they have they’re purging the outside shows.March 14, 2019 at 11:44 am #1202816468

Riverdale’s a CW show but I get your point, a damn travesty.
It’s a Norman Lear sitcom with what different three sets and a cast of largely non-famous people (it’s like each main cast member is getting half a million an episode salary). Surely that’s a fraction of the cost of the $100m they forked out for Friends.March 14, 2019 at 11:59 am #1202816488

Friends is an extremely popular global brand and they don’t have to pay production costs for it. ODAT they did have to pay the licensing fee to produce the show but likely wouldn’t have received any ancillary revenue if it ended up getting sold to cable (like Bojack did which is Netflix) and ODAT probably doesn’t have as broad an appeal behind state side sadly.
But mainly I’ve been expecting this since just about every show that isn’t Netflix owned has been canned lately. You can’t tell me Tina Fey was really done with Kimmy Schmidt after just 52 episodes.March 14, 2019 at 12:47 pm #1202816555
This is terrible. Absolutely not. Netflix either has to fix this, or someone else has to save it. It can’t be gone so soon.March 14, 2019 at 1:06 pm #1202816585
