As always, here’s my thread about Saturday Night Live, and the next season, Season 41
41×01 – Miley Cyrus // TBA
41×02 – Amy Schumer // TBA
41×03 – Tracy Morgan // TBAAugust 17, 2015 at 10:21 am #357905
The cast seems to work well with Miley Cyrus (most of them have said good things about her). Amy Schumer was a no-brainer. And it’ll be nice just to see Tracy Morgan again.August 17, 2015 at 10:41 am #357906
I would have had Goddess Amy Schumer in the season premiere, but the second episode will do nicely! Miley’s surprisingly adept in this format, so good on her returning. It’ll be an emotional night when Tracy Morgan returns. I wasn’t really expectiing him back so soon after his tragic accident. Hope he’s up for this. Looking forward to the musical guests! Come on, The Weeknd!August 17, 2015 at 10:57 am #357907
I already am looking forward to Amy Schumer’s episode and am prepared to be very disappointed if she isn’t on the 2016 Emmy ballot the way this past season’s second episode host Sarah Silverman wasn’t. And the last time Miley Cyrus hosted there was a federal government shutdown, so, if these things coincide again, I’m going to wonder if she is causing them! 🙂 I expect that the Tracy Morgan episode will be more about sentiment than quality, but all is forgiven if he brings back Brian Fellow!August 17, 2015 at 11:15 am #357908
Scheduling might have been a factor, but obviously Miley (a great host) should’ve been third in line after the other two. Schumer is an obvious choice for them thanks to the year she’s having and Tracy Morgan is an exciting choice because of his return, so both of them seem more logical for the premiere. But who knows, again, maybe scheduling is the reason.
All three look like the perfect hosts…so let’s hope (laughs) that the writers don’t screw this up.August 17, 2015 at 1:51 pm #357909
Is Tracy Morgan better? That would be great.

Miley is whatever, Schumer is great, but that Tracy Jordan recovery news is so fantastic that I want to take it behind a school and get it pregnant.August 17, 2015 at 2:01 pm #357911
Hard to see Schumer and Morgan not getting nominated, by the way, unless they inexplicably do not submit Schumer, which I suppose is a possibility after this year.

These are good picks. As much as I lothe what Miley Cyrus has become she has been a solid host. I just hope she isn’t the musical guest. Schumer is obviously perfect and I expect lots of screentime with costar Vanessa Bayer (maybe a Bill Hader cameo?). Tracy’s episode will be wonderful and I hope alot of ulumni pop upAugust 18, 2015 at 3:04 am #357913
With the MTV VMAs gig and her SNL one, I think it’s safe to say Miley will announce her first single from her new album in the former and will release her second single in the latter.August 18, 2015 at 6:57 am #357914
Fingers crossed for Morgan to reprise “Brian Fellow”. As for musical guests, I hope the first three are the weekend, Luke Bryan, and Duran Duran (their new album sounds like its going to be good).August 19, 2015 at 2:05 am #357915
Here are some people we can expect to host this season:
August 19, 2015 at 8:26 am #357916
- Jack Black (promoting Goosebumps)
- Bradley Cooper (promoting Burnt)
- Daniel Craig (promoting Spectre)
- Matt Damon (promoting The Martian)
- Robert De Niro (promoting The Internship or Joy)
- Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (SNL alum / promoting Sisters. I know, it has been over a decade since co-hosts, but Sisterscomes out in December, they are both massive favorites of the show and are the most successful modern alumni, and it would get Tina Fey Five-Timer status)
- Tom Hanks (SNL favorite / promoting Bridge of Spies)
- Anne Hathway (promoting The Internship)
- Hugh Jackman (promoting Pan)
- Jennifer Lawrence (promoting Joy or Mockingjay Part 2)
- Bill Murray (SNL alum / promoting Rock the Kasbah, it comes out in October, so he could get the Halloween episode, but I’d expect him for the Christmas show)
In terms of musical guests, I’m expecting The Weeknd to open the season.
I’d like to see Disclosure and CHVRCHES make their SNL debuts. Selena Gomez may pop up to promote Revival.
Also possible, Lana Del Rey (new album in September) and Justin Bieber (new album in November)
Also… you know J.Law is gonna host by the end of the year or once she receives her next Oscar nomination for Joy.September 1, 2015 at 3:48 am #357917
