This episode I kinda loved. A+April 4, 2016 at 12:18 pm #661975
What a horrible episode! The only thing that got laughs out of me was the Glory hole (LOL) sketch, and Weekend Update (Big Papi – Keenan nailed it as usual)
The other sketches seemed very off, tonally and performance-wise, bad writing, etc. SNL, step it up! Let’s get another “Larry David”-esque episode!April 5, 2016 at 11:54 am #662190
It was another talented host but meh writing episode. Crowe’s episode will be lame so let’s keep our fingers crossed for Julia’s episodeApril 17, 2016 at 1:50 am #1201746755
5/7: Brie Larson/Alicia Keys 😀April 17, 2016 at 2:47 am #1201746757
How did Julia do?April 17, 2016 at 5:50 am #1201746765
That car skit made my life. Just hit the nd it tells you what battery needs replacing and suddenly it goes crazy lol. Great episode.April 17, 2016 at 6:57 am #1201746788
I don’t watch SNL too often so I can’t really compare the quality of the episode to others in the season, but I thought it was very good. Julia was incredibly good in the Cinema Classics sketch.

I think Lrson was great but church lady opening stole the show. My grade: AMay 9, 2016 at 12:05 pm #1201826174
Brie Larson was unfortunately very forgettable with her hosting gig (love her though!)
The Hillary Clinton President Barbie sketch was my favorite (LOL), and the mothers’ haircuts was a close 2nd. Too good, and too accurate.May 15, 2016 at 4:08 am #1201835965
5/21: Fred Armisen/Courtney Barnett
Ummm, okay. Odd choices for the season finale.May 15, 2016 at 7:59 am #1201835988
Drake did great! The skit where he was the host of the PBS show had me dying. A+May 24, 2016 at 9:22 am #1201840523
Armisen’s episode was a great ender. The cameos helped from Maya Rudolph, Jason Sedekius, and Andy Samberg (and of course Larry David) but weekend update could have been stronger for the finale. Overall, this season was once again meh. Amy Schumer, Matthew McConaughey, Tina Fey/Amy Poehler, Ariana Grande, and Larry David were the highlights and the rest were sadly forgettable and at times shameful compared to the glory days of Wiig/Samberg/Armisen/Hader yearsMay 24, 2016 at 12:48 pm #1201840626
Quite surprised to say that Fred Armisen brought down the HOUSE! What a wonderful finale to a quite mediocre season.May 24, 2016 at 1:40 pm #1201840668
Yes, Fred Armisen indeed rocked it. I guess my initial criticism of the choice stemmed from expecting someone “big” like Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, etc, or an “event” choice like Justin Bieber or Mick Jagger. Seeing Regine was everything, and the cameos from Sudeikis, Brownstein, David, Samberg (the nadir that is Kyle Mooney actually makes me miss the guy), and especially Maya certainly elevated the episode considerably. Just watch Maya’s ousted Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff for proof (so good it should be recurring). This was also my first exposure to Courtney Barnett live. She’s something else, and both songs were great. Ridiculous that she didn’t get a Grammy slot. The guitarist’s hairography was life-giving. Nice finale with few lulls. Can’t say the same about a very forgettable season with few bright spots (Larry David being a major Emmy-worthy one).
