First bit of casting news. Looks like Luke Null is out. He was so baffingly dreadful in a schoolroom sketch from this past season that I didn’t think he’d make it to the end of the season. Better late than never.

FEATURED PLAYER LUKE NULL EXPECTED TO LEAVE “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”
    by Variety Staff | Aug 15, 2018, 4:48 PM

Luke Null, an actor and comedian who served as a featured player in the 43rd season of “Saturday Night Live,” is expected to leave the cast of the NBC mainstay, according to a report from Vulture.

A “Saturday Night Live” spokesperson declined to comment.

Null joined the show alongside Chris Nudd and Heidi Gardner in the fall of 2017. NBC has not said when the show’s 44th season will launch this fall.

Before “SNL,” Null was a Chicago-based comedian who worked in an improv group, Newport Hounds, at the iO Theater. Last season, he played a character with “horn implants” opposite host John Mulaney, among other roles.

Many famous actors and comedians launched a career off a one-season “SNL” stint, or an even shorter term on the show. Among those who left “SNL” after a brief term are Michaela Watkins, Jenny Slate, Sarah Silverman, and Ben Stiller.

Yes, he was the lead in the quietest SNL sketch I’ve ever seen. Kenan and Saoirse Ronan tried to save it the best they could.

Hoping for some really solid cast members coming. This new season has a lot to prove because last year was pretty weak.

Null sucked, but I hope they don’t associate the weak season with the other new cast members, I really liked Heidi Gardner and Chris Redd.

I could maybe see Melissa headed out soon, I think her stuff is great but she hasn’t totally shined yet like every other female cast member

Saturday Night Live seems to shine when they are near a presidential election. Outside of that, there humor can sometimes be similar to finding a needle in a haystack.

Heidi Gardner was more Emmy-worthy last season than Leslie Jones and Aidy Bryant, in my opinion.

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

I love Heidi Gardner, I’d love to see her get more material and a good role elsewhere so that she isn’t wasted on SNL.

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello weighs in on candidates to host this season:
    https://tvline.com/2018/08/23/saturday-night-live-season-44-hosts-list-lady-gaga-awkwafina-snl/

He lines ’em up, I mow ’em down for who should host the SEASON PREMIERE on 9/29 (most likely date):

Lady Gaga: Ausiello’s top choice, A Star is Born opens 10/5. So why not have her one night later?
Tiffany Haddish: Wait yer turn; maybe November sweeps.
Ryan Gosling: First Man opens 10/12. Yes! October 13 is on Saturday.
Robin Wright: House of Cards bows 11/2. See you November 3.
John Goodman: Conners spinoff debuts 10/16. October 20, then.
    Awkwafina: Who?
Jim Carrey: Kidding drops 9/9. 10/27 or November-ish?
Ariana Grande: Later this season, ditto.

Which leaves…”Kristen Bell: The Good Place‘s third season kicks off September 27, so there’s never been a more perfect time…”

Do the right thing, Lorne Michaels. Perfect NBC cross-promotion opportunity. Carpe diem, dude.

Heidi Gardiner was doing things that seemed like she could become big on the show. She got a lot to do.

The others sucked. And there’s still no reason for Kyle Mooney to be there.

I’m guessing/predicting that Ariana Grande gets the season premiere slot. Makes a lot of sense with her album promotion in full swing (it will be time to release third single “breathin” soon) and the Pete Davidson connection. If she’s not hosting, she’ll at least have a cameo with him somehow.

I’d rather Jude Law than Redmayne, especially since everyone is seeing FBCOG because of Dumbledore. But this is very accurate to how I think it will be!

Ariana Grande’s promotion planned even included a spot at Aretha’s funeral (you know that’s why she was there). So I’ll be shocked if she doesn’t host this show.

I think Constance Wu makes a lot of sense right now. She would be on her movie’s seventh weekend or something like that, but people like Tiffany Haddish have hosted long after their film was a hit (July/November).

I have a feeling Amy Adams is going to host around the time Cheney is released. Maybe she’ll be the pre-Holiday break host?
