I know Adam has “BlacKkKlansman” and “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” but what does Kanye have to promote? Wasn’t “Ye” released in June?

His track “I Love It” that debuted in the top ten last week thanks to the video premiere, he probably perform that and something new as well

    Adam Driver?

Lorne’s fixation on movie star hosts proceeds uninterrupted.

Interesting choices. Driver was good the first time he hosted, but you could tell he wasn’t the most comfortable with it. Kanye’s Kanye. He will get headlines regardless of having anything to promote, which he actually does with “Ye” being recent enough and “I Love It” debuting in the top ten on Billboard.

I’d love to see Ty Burrell and Chris Meloni host sometime.

    New cast member alert:

EGO NWODIM JOINS “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”
    by: Brian Steinberg | Sep 21, 2018
    VARIETY

Comedienne Ego Nwodim will join “Saturday Night Live” as its newest featured player, as the NBC late-night mainstay starts its 44th season. “SNL” is set to launch its next cycle on September 29 with host Adam Driver and musical guest Kanye West.

Nwodim graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in biology and has been a regular cast member at the UCB Theatre in Los Angeles, where she performed her one-woman show, “Great Black Women … and Then There’s Me.” She has had small roles in projects like 2017’s “Singularity” and the streaming-video series “Galactic War Room.”

“SNL” also added Alan Linic, Alison Gates, Eli Mandel, and Bowen Yang as writers.

Nwodim’s addition to the cast is the latest in a series of tweaks that have made Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor, and Alex Moffat full members of the cast, after having served as featured players in recent seasons. Chris Redd and Heidi Gardner are set to return as featured players. Luke Null, a featured player who joined the show last season, has departed the program.

“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.

Looks like Kenan is leaving. End of an era. Wow.

KENAN THOMPSON TO STAR IN SINGLE DAD COMEDY SERIES IN THE WORKS AT NBC
    by Joe Otterson | Sep 21, 2018
    VARIETY

“Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson has signed on to star in a comedy series that has received a production commitment at NBC, Variety has confirmed.

The series, titled “Saving Larry,” is a single-camera comedy in which Thomson would star as a dad who has to be both mother and father to his kids after his wife dies. And he has to do it all with his father-in-law hovering over him.

Thompson would also executive produce the series in addition to starring. Jackie Clarke is the writer and also executive producer, with Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer also executive producing. Universal Television will produce along with Michaels’ Broadway Video.

Should the project go to series, it would likely mean Thompson’s exit from “SNL,” where he recently broke the record as the longest-serving cast member in the show’s four plus decades on the air. Thompson first joined the show in 2003 and was recently nominated for his first acting Emmy in the supporting actor in a comedy category. He and Chris Redd, Will Stephen, and Eli Brueggemann won the Emmy this year for original music and lyrics for their song “Come Back Barack.” Thompson’s other TV credits include the Nickelodeon sketch series “All That” and “Kenan & Kel.”

Clarke is a writer and co-executive producer on fellow NBC comedy “Superstore.” She also previously worked on shows like “Undateable,” “Happy Endings,” and “Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television.”

Thompson is repped by UTA, Michael Goldman, and Del Shaw. Clarke is repped by UTA and Felker Toczek.

Deadline first reported the “Saving Larry” news.

Sad. He would make sketches funny just by being there. There was no one like him, for me. For every one of my favorite performers I can name a character that I didn’t find funny. But not for him.
